This regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the
of Lodi was called to order by tie President at 5.20
on the date and at the place first above mentioned,
Trustees H le, -Settler, Roach, Shattuck and Spooner present,
none absent.
The minutes of the regular meeting of June lst.,1925
were read, a:proved as read and so endorsed by the President.
The order of Public Hearings was passed by unanimous
consent and the Clerk proceeded to read communications and
-notices received. -
A letter from the Chairman of the Board of Supervisors
of San Joaquin County advising the Board that they should apply
for apportionment of money for the local library from the
County Library Fund was referred to the Trustees of the
Library for recommendation, it not being clear as to the
status that the local library .could acquire as part of the
County Library System.
In the matter of the conduct of play grounds during
the school vacation period; the following resolution was
adopted by unanimous vote:-

RESOLVED BY'T:E BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF TB3 CITY o' LODI:
(1) That H.HRLEY I . LEM, as representative of the Lodi
Business Len's Association,the repsresntative from the Lodi
Woman's Club and J. J. Shatuck of this Board of Trustees be,
and they are hereby appointed members of the City ?la ground
Compassion to serve from and after this 15th day of Jyune,1925
to and until the 30th day of June 1926
(2) That a sum not to exceed fifteen hundred dollars,
($1,500.00), as heretofore included in the budget for the
fiscal year 1925-1926, be and the same is hereoy appropriated
and set aside for playground purposes to be extendea during
the school vacation period, expenditure of said money to be
made on claims properly submitted this Board for audit and
aPproval. Any sur?lus remaining of this appropriation at the
end of the fiscal year is to revert to the General Fund of the
City.

was introduced and on motion of Trustee Hale, seconded by -
Trustee Shattuck, laid over for not leas than five days.
Four building permits for a total of $9,980.00 were
applied for and ordered granted.

and it is the intention of the Board of Trustees and City Coun-
cil of the City of Lodi to order the followi cork to be done

Provided. nevertheless, that the rail :ray line, and
railway rift of way, streets, avenues and alleys situated
within said district shall be omitted from any assessment
made or levied to nay the dameges, costs and exoenses of the
above mentioned :voilk and inorover:ent the said straets, avenues
and alleys belonging- to said City ana being in use for the
performance of a public function, to -wit, in use as public
streets, avenues and alleys.
The Lodi News is herebT desiZnated as a tri -weekly
ne�vsoaper oieh ubished and circulated in said City. in �rnthe
Street Superintendent's notice of the passage of this resol-
ution shall be published, there being no daily newsaauer and
no semi weekly newspappeer and no weekl newspaper published
or printed in said Uity, and it is hereby ordered that said
superintendents notice be published in the newspaper so
designated, three times a week for at least four successive
weeks, a.d said Street Superintendent shall post said notice
as required by law.

The foregoing Resolution of Intention No. 481 was
then passed by the following vote: -

At the order of the President, none dissenting, the
Superintendent of ?ublic Utilities was instructed to install
an extension telephone gong in the park at Sacramento and
Lodi Ave!4es to be an extension of the present telephone bell
in Fire House No. 2,
On a-Tolication of the Fire Chief, he vms allowed to
purchase 2 five gallon water e_rtuinsuishers.
Cn motion of rastee w'ettler seconded by Trustee
Shattuck, the City '_arshal ;,as gra.n�ed leave of absence with
pay or, account of a haul leave, for 15 days.
On motion of Trastee 'Lettler, bills in the amount of
$2,930.91 as audited, :vere allowed and ordered paid.
