City Hall, City Of Lodi,
Monday, May 18th.,1925
This regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the City
of Lodi was called to order at 8.07 o'clock P.M. Trustees Hale,
Mettler, Roach, Shattuck and Spooner present, none absent.
The minutes of the regular meeting of May 4th.,1925 were
read, approved as read and so endorsed by the President.
The order of Public Hearings and Protests was passed.

In a letter dated May 15th.,1925, Mr. H. F. Ellis, Rec-
order of the City presented his resignation to become effective
June lst.,1925. On motion of Trustee Shattuck, it was moved that
the resignation of Er Ellis be accepted and that a.committee be
appointed from the Board to draft a resolution expressing the
City's appreciation for his past services. The President appointed
Trustees Shattuck and Hale to be members•of this committee.
Trustee Shattuck then introduced Resolution No. 477: -

A RESOLUTI0I APPOINTING J. E. HOPKINS TO BE RECORDER
OF THE CITY OF LODI
Whereas: Fr. H. F. Ellis has presented his resignation
as City Recorder of this City to take effect June lst.,1925:
BE IT RESOLVED: that Mr. J. E. Hopkins , now acting
City Recorder, be and he is hereby appointed City Recorder of
this. City to take and hold such office from and after the first
day of June, A.D. 1925.

The above resolution was then passed and adopted by unan-
imous vote of the Board.
Ordinance No. 148. entitled."AN ORDINANCE BIDING ORDI-
NANCE NO. 143 ENTITLED ' AN ORDINANCE REGULATING THE PRODUCTION,
PASTEURIZATION, MEUFACTURING, DISTRIBUTING AND SELLING OF MILK,
CREAM OR MILK PRODUCTS WITHIN THE CITY OF LORI, STATE OF CALIF-
ORNIA , PROVIDING FOR THE ISSUANCE OF PERMITS FOR THE SAME AND
PROVIDINGAL PENALTY FOR THE VIOLATION OF ANY OF THE PROVISIONS
OF THIS ORDINANCE" was introduced on motion of Trustee Mettler
and laid over for not less than five days.
in the matter of proposals for the purchase of voltage
regulators under call dated April 22, 1925:-

The Clerk reported but two proposals received: that of
Westinghouse Electric €* lanufecturing Company and that of
General Electric Compapy. Bids were opened, read and referred
to Superintendent of Public Utilities, J. A. Henning for
consideration, the Boaxd agreeing to adjourn.to the 25th day of
day, when, if prices and specif i cat ions.L were thought to be
correct, an award would be made.
The City Plumbing Inspector filed his report of sewer
connections made during the month of April.
Cor =- ications in regard to an audit of the City's books
from Samuel Evans Gordon and ;'Eisler Audit Bureau were read and
ordered filed.
Four building permits totalling $4,825.00 were ordered
granted.
On motion of Trustee Yettler, the Clerk was instructed
to cover operation of Baths and Playgrounds with liability
insurance at not less that $25,000 and to obtain complete
covery for, the City, officers and employees for all depart-
ments of an operative nature if such coverage could be had
at a reasonable cost.
Billa in the amount of $2,993.87 :were allowed and
ordered paid on motion of Trustee Shattuck.
On motion of Trustee Roach, the Board adjourned until
8 o'clock PS. of Monday, May 25th. ,1925.
