Monday, January 19-1925
This regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the
City of Lodi was called to order at 8.05 o'clock P.M. and on
call of the.roll, the following Trustees were present, Trustees,
Hale, Mettler, Roach, Shattuck and Spooner; none absent.
The minutes of the regular meeting of January 5th,1925
were read, approved as read and so endorsed by the President.
1r. D. A. Fraser, on behalf of Lodi Lumber Company,
applied for permission to extend an existing spur track easterly
across Stockton Street. Permission was granted by the passage
of Resolution No. 471 by the following vote:
AYES: Trustees, ettler,Shattuck,Hale,Roach & Spooner.
NOES: NONE
ABSENT: ,NONE,
Communications:
The Clerk read, a circular letter from the legislative
committee of the League of California Municipalities asking
that the Board address the legislature in the matter of more
promptly printing bills introduced in the first half of their
sessions so.that they might be available to interested citizens
before they became enacted into law., Their request was complied
with by the passage of Resolution No. 472 by the following vote:
AYES: Trustees, Hale, Shattuck,Mettler,Roach and Spooner.
NOES: NONE,
ABSENT : NCNE .
Six residential building permits aggregating $6,150.00
were granted.
Proceedings heretofore undertaken under and pursuant to
Resolution of Intention No, 64 passed June.18 - 1923 for the
opening of Hutchins Street to.the South line of Daisy Avenue
were abandoned by the passage of Resolution No. 473
Resolution No 473
BE IT RESOLVED, By the Board of Trustees of the City of
Lodi, State of California;that,whereas on the 18th day of Tune,
1923, said Board of Trustees passed and adopted its Resolution
of Intention No.64 wherein and whereby it was resolved that it
was the intention of said Board of Trustees to order certain work
to be done and certain improvement to be made, to -gait, that North
Hutchins Street in said City of Lodi be opened between the North
line of Lockeford Street in said City and -the South line of Daisy
Avenue in said City as will more definitely appear by said Res-
olution of Intention, reference to which is here made for further
certaint
That said Resolution of Intention No. 64 be and the
same is hereby cancelled, annulled and declared null and void
and of no effect;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED That any and all resolutions
passed pursuant to said Resolution of Intention No. 64 and any
and all proceedings had pursuant thereto be and the same are
abandoned and declared null, void and of no effect.

'he foregoing, liesolution No. 473 vas adopted by the fol-
lowing vote: -
APES: Trustees, Shattuck, Hale Vettler,Roach and Spooner.

Trustee Shattuck then moved the adoption of Resolution
of Intention No. 474 and the sane being seconded by Trustee
Roach, said Resolution of Intention was passed and adopted by
the following vote:
AYES: Trustees, Shattuck Roach Hale Mettler and Spooner
NOTES: NONE. ABE"AT : DONE.
RESOLTIT__ION OF INTET i ION Y-2. 44.
RESOLTED, That public interest and convenience require,
and it is the intention of the Board of Trustees and City'Coun-
cil of the City of Lodi to order the following work to be done
in said City; to -wit: -
That a public street shall be opened between the north
line of Lockeford Street in said City, and the south line of
Daisy Avenue in said City, over, across and upon that certain
piece of lana situated in said City and described as follows:
Cormencing at a point on the north line of Lockeford
Street, in the City of Lodi, California., distant 37 feet east of
the west line of Section One, Township 3 North Mange 5 East,
?.D.B.& V., and running thence north and parallel with the
,vest line of said Section to a point on the south line of Daisy
Avenue; thence wrest and alo%. the south line of said Daisy Avenue
93 feet to a point on the same? thence South and parallel with
the rest line of said section X88.1 feet to a point, on the
north line of said Lockeford Street: thence easterly and along
the north line of Lockeford Street 93.55 feet to the point of
beginning.
Exceptin; that part of said strip of lased -which lies
,within the right-of-way of the San Jcaquin & Sierra. Nevada
Railroad, beim the rail -;,ay line running from Lodi to Wood-
bridge in the County of San Joaquin.
The land necessary to be taken therefor is particularly
bounded and described as follows, to -wit:
Cozencirg at a point on the north line of Lockeford
Street, in the City of Lodi, California. distant 37 feet east
of the west line of Section One, Townshippt 3 North, Range 6
East, I%D.B.& Y., and runningthence north and parallel ,with the
;vest line of said Section 995 feet to a point on the south line
of Daisy Avenue; thence vest and laong the south line of said
Daisy Aver_ue 93 feet to a point on the same- thence south and
parallel to the :vest line of said section 9$8.1 feet to a point
on the north line of Lockeford Street; thence easterly and along
the north line of said Lockeford Street 93.55 feet to the point
of beginning, except that part of said land lying within said
railroad right-of-way.

The exterior boundaries of the district of lands to
be affected and benefitted by said work and improvement, and
�- to be assessed to pay the damages, cost, and expenses thereof
are as follows:
All that certain district and lands lying within the
corporate limits of said City of Lodi, Countp of ban Joaquin,
State of California, and particularly described as follows:-
Co.*rrencing for the same at the intersection of the
center line of Lincoln Avenue with the south line of Forrest
Avenue, (forWerly Foodbridoe Avenue), in the City of Lodi,
California, and running thence south on and along said center
line and its southerly production to the intersection of said
production with the north line of Lockeford Street- thence
westerly on and along the north line of Lockeford Street to
its intersection with the west boundary of the corporate
limits of said City;_thence north on and said west_
boundary line to its intersection with the south line -of Forrest
- - Avenue; thence east on and along said south line of Forrest Ave-
nue to the point of beginning.
Provided, nevert'.eless, that the railway line, and rail-
way right of way, streets, avenues and alleys situated within
saad district shall be omitted from any assessment made or lev-
iad to pay the dam es cost and expenses of the above mentioned
work and improvement, the said streets; avenues acid alleys bel-
on�ing to said City, and being in use for the performance of a
public f•unction, to -wit, in use as public streets, avenues and
a'leys. :
The Lodi stews is hereby designated as , a tri -Weekly news-
paper published and circulated in said Cit in which the Street
Superintendent's notice of the passage of his resolution shall
be published, there being no daily newspaper and no weekly news -
Paper and no semi-weekly newspaper printed or published in said
ity, and it is hereby ordered that -said Superintendent's notice
be. published in the newspaper so de'sit'niated; three times a. week
for at least four successive weeks, and said Street Superintendent
shall post said notice as required by law.

Bills amounting to $2 437.65 as a�aroved by the audit=
i corsmittee .were allowed anA ordered paid on.motion of Trustee
:Tale, seconded by Trustee Shattuck.
Superintendent J.A.Hennin, was directed to install a
12 inch discharge pipe and valve Eheref or at the ?i_unicipal
Baths so that :pater could be discharged into the storm sewer
on Stockton Street.
No further business appearing, the Board adjourned at
9.25 T.1. on Motion of Trustee Hale.
