ROLL CALL - Councilmen, Coffield, -.J., Riggs, J.E., Tolliver, Harry J., Weihe,

MINUS OF PRIOR MEETINGS- Minutes of the -last regular meeting held January 17
and of the Special meeting of January 25th were read, approved
as read and so endorsed by the Mayor.
PUBLIC HEARINGS - John H. 'Youngman _dressed the Council on the need of a city
plumbing ordinance and on order of the Mayor, a petition listed to be taken
up under communications was then read, this peti.tion being si=red by several
master and journeyman plumbers and requesting that the City adopt a plumbing
ordinance similar to that in effect in Stockton. The Clerk was directed to
obtain copies of plumbing, codes from other cities, particularly that of the
City of Stockton for study by the Council

The State Board of Equalization's notices as to alcoholic beverage licenses
at 8 North Main Street, 35 N. Sacramento Street and -122 N. Sacramento Street
were received and re=ad
Reports of the Chief of Police and of the City Poundmaster for the month of
January ware received, read and ordered filed, likewise the Report of the
Chief of the Fire Department for the quarter ended December 31, 1944; Judge
Ferguson of the City Court filed en informal report covering the activities
of that Court in the year 1944. The City Clerk's report on collection of
=arba;e fees for January showing a total collection of $ 2 542.60 with
$433.52 retained by the City was read and also ordered filed.
R SCLUTICNS AND ORDINANCES -
The sum of 044.10 transferred from General Fund to Bond Interest and Red-
emption Fund on Septezber 20,194.4 was returned to the General Fund by the
adoption of Resolution No 1220 introduced by Councilman Rigs, Weihe second
and passed by unanimous vote of all members of the City Council.
Ordinance No 305 i entitled, " AN CFDPNANCE A:. SNDING SECTION 7 OF ORDINANCE
NC. 276, ENTITLED ' 1- O_DL-L NCE CF THE CITY OF LODI CRATING AND ESTABLISH-
ING A PERM= SYSTEM FCR SAID CITY'; AND BY ADDING A SECTION TO BE NUMBER,
ED 7-a TO SAID ORDINA?CE NO 276." having been regularly introduced on Jan-
uary 17th,1945 was brought up for passage on motion of Councilman Coffield,
Weihe second, and, after reeving by title, second reading was omitted by
unanimous consent and the ordinance passed, adopted and ordered to pint by
the following vote:

The Mayor then signed the above Ordinance No 305 in approval thereof.
Ordinance No 306, entitled, " AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 9 OF ORDINANCE
NO 277 ENTITLED " Ar ORDINANCE LICENSING FOR TEE PURPOSE OF REVENUE AND REG-
ULATION EVERY KIND OF ?.;"FUL BUSINESS HEREIN SPECIFIED, TRANSACTED OR CARRIED

FIXING THE RATE 0: LICENSE TAXES ON THE SAME, PROVIDi IND FCR THE COLLECTION

OR BUSINESSES 7IT CUT_ A LICENSE AND REPEALING CERT. -.IN ORDINANCES " having
been regularly introduced on January 17, 1945, was brought up for passage
on motion of Councilman -;.eihe, Coffield second, and, after reading by title,
second reeding was omitted by unanimous consent and the ordinance passed,
adopted and ordered to print by the following vote: -

The Mayor then sifned the above Ordinance No 306 in approval thereof.

MATTERS IN CITY CF LODI, CALIFCP.NIA " was introduced on motion of
CounciimanCoffieid, ..eihe second, read at length by the Clerk and by the
same motion by which it was introduced, ordered laid over for not less than
five days.
UNFINISHED BU_IiESS - A third letter from the enforcement officer icer of the State
War Council urging approval of the "Law Enforcement Mutual Aid Plan" first
sub:_+itted to the Council October 18, 1944 was received and read. At the
direction of the M_ -or, this matter was again referred to the City Attorney
for such rep'; as he__ht _ en fitting.
