Tiro ladies fr:om the First Christian Church addressed the Council in re.-ard to alterations made in a small building at 422 dest Pine Street occupied for some years by one Mable Gayler and the subject of a notice from the City 3uilding Department that these alterations were in violation of the provisions of the State Housing Act and the local building code. The State 3card of Equalization's reports on a_:plications for alcoholic beverage licenses at iO! East Pine Street and 114 North Sacramento Street were read and ordered filet. A report of the City ilarning Cormaission on the Corind-ssion's actions in regard to (1) Application of Dr R.L.Owens for modification of set -back lire on Pine Street (2) Application of Susan M. Jones for re -zoning of Lot 11, Becknan Tract (3) Application of E. T. 3amert, for rezoning of the southern tiers of lots in 113amert Subdivision?'(4) Central Valley Radio for a use per. -At was read. On motion duly made, seconded and carried, the City Council endorsed the findings of the Coif,_mdssion and ordered that a use permit be granted Central Valley Radio for use of the building, at 301 Fast Oak Street for a radio broadcasting studio and appurtenant offices. Business License Applications first read December 20, 191,4, on written recommendation of the Chief of Police were ordered granted. The local executive of Boy Scouts of America rras allo,-red use of the room on the second floor of the City Hall formerly occupied by the Director of Civil Zefense until the City might have other need for it. CLAIMS - The claim of Raymond Schmidt for danages to his automobile alleged to have been caused January 11th in a collision of his car and a truck belonging to the City in the mount of $35.00 was ordered rejected and referred to the carrier of the City's liability insurance. _ CU -L '33_Oi1 At 10.02 o'clock :.1. the Council was r -red into Cormi.ttee of the .vhole and the room cleared, returning to open meeting at 10:30 P.M. In the Tatter of vacancies on the City Planning Commission: Biayor Rir-.n named Councilman Tolliver and City Clerk Blakely as ex-officib members to serve during their respective terns of office, Councilman Tolliver to succeed Mr Rinn and 3_akely to succeed himself. L.P.Singer Jr.Assistant City Engineer, was nominated to -represent the City Engineer's office on the Commission. Mrs Faith Coffield and '"+illiam C. Green -,,rare reappointed Commissioners to succeed themselves. All appointments were confirmed by the City Counci.1. Tentative appointments, conditional only on the acceptance of the nominees were made to fill the other vacancies on the Commission, viz: Mrs Loretta J. Zwinge to succeed Mrs Alva Meeske resigned; Robert Fuller to succeed the late Co=issioner Charles K. Jones and Peuben Rott to succeed George Schrneidt who had removed his place of residence from the City. Com issloner Charles L. Kobes was requested to continue in office until the expiration of his tern of office, July 1, 1945, he having expressed his desire to be relieved of his duties on the Commission.
