.-INUTES CF ?P-5VI-CUS LIETING - The minutes of the last Council meeting held
October 13, 19_4 were read at length, approved as read and so
endorsed 'oy the Mayor.
?CE IC HEARINGS - Piarion .:erly, comer of the building on the Northeast cor-
ner of the intersection of Pine and School Streets a neared in retard
to the Citd-'s plans for repairs to the sidewalk, curbing and gutters
on this corners as initiated by the City Council October lath. stating
that she was principally interested in seeing that this work would
prevent water leakage to the basement of the rear part of her building.
It was agreed that Liss ..kerly, City Engineer C. L. unite and L.c.Singer,
Assistant City En_ineer would meet on the property at Noon of November
2nd and determine the nature and extent of the proposed repairs.
& REPORTS -
7orthern Sen Joaquin Finance District advised the Council of the i rnin-
ince of the .c am-::ai : for the Sixth "far Loan and asked that the City survey
its finances with a view to additional investment of City funds.
A letter from the President of the Pacific Coast Building Officials
Conference commending the participation of the City's delegate to the
a .nual meeting of the Conference and asking that the Council allow time
and expenses so that Er L. F. Singer could actively participate in his
membership on important committees of the Conference.
Reports of the Chief of Police and of the City ?oundmaster for the
month of &&ctober ware received, read and ordered -filed. The City Clerk
reported garba,,ze fee collections for the month of October.

Acalication of Southern Pacific Company in regard to bunk houses to
be moved on to the Company's land on North Main Street North of Lockeford
Street was referred to the Building Inc-ector.
Business Licenses - Applications from Frank H.Hoxie to conduct a restau-
rant at 113 N. Cherokee Lane; Richard E. Black, restaurant at 204 N. Cherokee
Lane and Stanley G. Bartels, Service Station at 133 N. Cherokee Lane were
read for the first time and ordered referred to the Chief of Police. The
application of Jim Billus et al for card license presented October 4th was
granted. It was ordered that reports on the reputation of applicants for
business licenses required by Section 9 of Ordinance No 277 hereafter be
made in writing.
City-nzineer C. L. White reported on progress with rishts of way
acquisition on the City's outfall sewer line and on action taken to
improve the Southern Pacific Crossing at Tokay Street, stating that the
Company's estimate of 31 720.00 to move signals seemed excessive on the
latter project.
After an executive session lasting from 9:12 P.M. to 11:05 P.M. the
City Council adjourned on notion of Councilman ;eihe.
Claims in the total amount of $26 828.33 gere allowed, including the
power bill of P.G. & E.
