MINUT"rS OF PRECEEDING MIMING - The minutes of the last Council meeting held
December 1,1943 were read at length by the Clerk, approved as
read and so endorsed by the Mayor.
PUBLIC 14EART-14GS - Dr Irvin Feldkamp applied by filing an application for a
building permit (#534) for a use permit to allow his use of
the dwelling at 300 iYest Oak Street for a physician's office
and treatment rooms. It appearing that there would be no
substantial change in the building, the permit was ordered
granted on motion of Councilman Spooner, Riggs second.
CO'.iiLh'ICATIONS•-NOTICES-REPORTS - Notices of applications for transfers of
alcoholic beverage licenses as received from the State Board
of Equalization were read. No objections offered.
Ur John A. Henning filed a report and recommendation in the
matter of grading and surfacing the City lot commonly known
as Cypress Street. On motion of Councilman Riggs, Coffield
second, Mr Henning's recommendation was approved and the Clerk
directed to prepare the necessary resolution and contract
papers to make the same effective on approval by the Council.
The annual report of the City Building Inspector was filed by
Mr Lewis P. Singer, Deputy Building Inspector and copies furn-
ished to the several Councilmen.
OFTJINANCES .40 RESOLUTIONS -
Ordinance No 295 entitled " RELATING TO WADING ZONES It as
introduced December 1,1943 was brought up for passage, again
read at length and finally passed, adopted and ordera3 to
print by the following vote:
AYES: Councilmen Coffield, 7leihe, Riggs, Spooner and Rinn.
NOES: Councilmen, None. ABSENT: Councilmen, None.
The Mayor then approved the ordinance by signing the same.
ORDINANCE NO. 296 entitled, " AN OP.DINANCE PROVIDING THAT THE
CITY OF IMI, THP.OUGH INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR OR CONTRACTORS OR
OTHM11SE, SHALL HAVE THE EXCLUSIVE RIGHT TO GATHER AND COLLECT
GARBAGE. IN SAID CITY, DEFINDIG " GARBAGE ", PROVIDING FEES FOR
THE COLLECTION THEREOF AND THE MANNER OF COLLECTING SAID FEES
TOGETHER +7ITH REGULATIONS FOR THE MAI NER AND TIM OF COLLECT-
ING AND DISPOSING OF GARBAGE It , introduced December' 1,1943 eras
brought up for passage on motion of Councilman Spooner, Riggs
second, second reading omitted by unanimous consent after read-
ing by title, and finally passed, adopted and ordered to print
by the follo.dng vote:
AYES: Councilmen, Spooner, Riggs, Coffield, :7eihe and Rinn.
NOES: Councilman, None. ABSENT; Councilmen, None.
Tre Mayor then ayproved the ordinance by signing the same.
It appearing that the term of office of Dr A. C. Boehmer as
Trustee of San Joaquin Local Health District for Lodi would
expire January 3, 1944, Dr Boehmer was re -appointed as such
Trustee by the adoption of Resolution No 1.182 introduced by
Councilman Coffield, Riggs second and adopted by unanimous
vote of all members of the City Council.

UNFIP[ISH:�:D BUSINESS - The matter of the application of 4illiam S.Reese, holder
of a contract agreement for hauling "screenings" from the City Sewage
Disuosal Plant, .riven in open meeting December lst, coming on to be heard,
it.was moved by Councilman -eihe, Riggs second, that Mr Reese be allowed
additional compensation in the amount of $10.00 per month beginning on
January 1, 1944 and that evidence of this action be entered by endorsement
on the original contract dated July 15, 1942.
NEV BUSINESS - Business License Applications first read November 17th were -
approved and licenses ordered granted.
The application of Miller & Ranagan, 116 IN. Sacramento St, Refrigerator
Repair Shop, was read for the first time and ordered referred to the Chief
of Police in accordance with ordinance.
L. P. Singer Jr, Assistant City Engineer asked the Council's approval of
his efforts to obtain further repairs to the Southern Pacific main line
street crossings and that part of -Jest Lockeford Street occupied by that
company's Woodbridge Branch Line tracks. The Clerk was instructed to
write the Lgcal Agent of Southt!rn Pacific Company to this effect.
ADJOURN&ENT - Adjournment was had at 9:12 o'clock P.M. on motion of Councilman
