(t:ayor) (5 ) ?.'1v'T OF UST =STING - The minutes of the last meeting held August 4,1943 were read at length by the Clerk, corrected by striking out the words, It as -well as the L= ol.ie of California Cities r' in paragraph two on page 385, and then certified as correct by the Mayor. PUBLIC :EARINGS - No persons ar.earinf,, this order was passed and the Council proceeded to the next order of business. C9,i:LN1CATI4N3-NTCTICS R.• REPORTS - A letter expressing, appreciation of Hxrmond General Hcspital at Modesto was received from Colonel L.R.Proust, Commanding, for use of Lodi Stadium to secure funds for a srri.;..ing pool at the hospital. Four notices of applications for alcoholic beverage licenses were received from `,he State Foard of Equalization. No objections offered. r 1HrI9H-:D BUSINESS - i't:e City Clerk reported by letter that City Attorney Gigrn blest and him- self had appeared before the Board of Supervisors of San Joaquin County in session at Stockton where and when lir ;Test presented and filed a cert- ofied cony of Ordinance No 291 with that body at the same time requesting that the Board fix a charge to be made the City by the County for the ser -.ices of assessing and collecting Lodi city taxes as contemplated in the said Crdinance No 291. A tentative form of contract with a suggested form of resolution authorizing the execution of the same was also given the Board of Supervisors at this time. This report also stated that the City Clerk had on this same day filed a c=rtified copy of Ordinance No. 2?1 :rith the Counts Auditor pursuant to the provisions of Act 8464,:).A.1937, Vol 2, F 3835 et seq. Follovring the above, an agreement fixing the charges to be made by San Joaquin County executed by the Chairman of the Board of Supervisors was received and read. Execution of this agreement by the Mayor was then directed by the adoption of Resolution No. 1172, entitled, Resolution n:=:pro-ing 1�xecution of Agreement with Board of Supervisors of San Joa;uin County for A5sessm%�nt and Collection of Lodi Citta Taxes, introduced by Councilman leihe, Spooner second and adopted ty the following vote: A%S: Councilmen, `i'eihe, Spooner, Coffield, Riggs and Firm (Mayor) (5) NC S: Councilmen, None. ABSENTI: Councilmen, None. The Mayor then executed the agreement .
