to order by the ;payor at 5 o'clock P.M. at the place and on the date first

the name and style of City Cab Company for permis^icn to increase taxi -cab

In acco~dance with the provisions of Ordinance No. 277
An annual purchase agreement with Nestinghouse Electric Supply Compa:.c
for small incandescent lamps to be filled thvough Electric Equipment Company
was su'mit; -i by Mr J.A.Harring, Superintendent of Public Utilities and
its execution directed by motion introduced by Councilman Rinn, Coffield
second. The L:ayor then approved and signed the agreement.

introduced on motion of Councilman Finn, Coffield second, and carried L -f

Mayor Bull called attention of the City Council to the necessity of
obtaining -coneys to defray the expenses on the Local Rationing, Board, stating
..hit the F=dsral Government, :voulri, within a few days, f-arnish personnel
and e-uip.ment, but that some moneys 3ho7.ild be provided at once.

At this tine, "ayor• Sill announced that he had anointed RL;=nd G. Patton
as Chairman on the Committee on He;,Ith, j:alfare and Consumer Interest of the
Local Defense ^,ouncil, rrhich Committee was created by the adoption of Resolution
No. 1124 on May 6,1942. This acpointrnent ..as corfIrmed ', the City Council on

TI -,e proposal of Valley Insulation Company to install blovm "Rockwool"
insulation in the a -tic of the City Hall for the sum of $540.00 was accepted
on .notion of Counci_man Rinn, Coffield second. Councilman Ylaihe voting "No"
Plans and Specifications for Alterations in the C-ity :fall Basement, pre-
pared by City Engineer C. Henning as directed by Resolution No. 1125 adopted
May 6, 1942 were approved and the City Clerk directed to advertise for sealed
proposals thereurderby the adoption of Resolution No. 1128, introduced by
Councilman ;eine, Ri=gs second and carried by unanimous vote of all members of
the City Ciuncil.
F•.irthering the intentions of Resolution No. 1125, mentioned in the preceed-
ing paragraph, the City Engineer was authorized to make and file an application
for a "Frc ect Rating" covering the proposed alterations in the basement of the
City hall. This was done by the adoption of Resolution No. 1129, introduced by
CourciL'nan Coffisld, ' eihe second and passed by unanimous vote.
At this time, 10:35 o'clock P.M. the Ma.,or called the Coxn.cil into executive
session and the room +ns cleared. Return to open meeting was had at 11:35 o'clock
F.M. when the following announcements were made:
1. That the Council app roved the transfer of Richard B. Venable from the
Electric Utility Department to the Fire Department at a starting salary of $160..00
per month, effective July 1, 1942.
2. That the City Council approved the retention of 'Mamine Salisbury as
desl clerk in the Police Department at 50} per hour during the period of Police
Officers vacations.
3. That heads of departments undertake no projects involving other than
repairs or maintenance :nd requiring the expenditure of any considerable amount
of money without _necific authorization of the City Council.
At. 12.5 o'clock A.M. of Thursday, June 4, 1942, the City Council adjourned
on motion of Councilman Coffield.
