CITY HALL -- CITY OF LCDI
WEDNESDAY, MARCH L, 1942
This regular meeting of the City Council of the
City of Lodi was called to order by the :payor at 8:00 ®'clock
at the place and on the date first above in these
minutes written, Councilmen Bull, Riggs, Rinn, 74eihe and
Steele present, none absent.
The minutes of the last meeting held February
18, 1F42 were read, approved as r:ad and so endorsed by
the l ayor.
-:o persons appearing the order of public hearings
was passed and the Council proceeded to hear communications
and retorts.
The report of the Chief of Police and that of the
'ound^aster for the month of February was received, read and
ordered filed.
Election precincts were established and polling
places stated and election officers appointed for the
general municipal election to be held April 14 1912 by the
adoption of resolution No. 1115 introduced by Councilman
Bull and passed and adopted by the following vote:

Steele
Councilmen, None
ABSENT: Councilmen, None
Jrentice and �,:ahaffey by letter
applied to the for the permission of transferring
the taxicab franchise now held by the former to the latter
and on motion of Councilman rig?:s, seconded by councilman
..eihe, Resolution `•�o. 1116 was introduced approving such
transfer from C. ++. Prentice doing business as Prentice
Taxicab Companyto B. E.
::-ahaffey doing business under the
name and style City Cab Company. The foregoing Resolution
was then passed and adopted by the following vote:

Peter Kaiser, 233 South Church Street was granted
a variance permit to alloy; the removal of a small shop from
116 ..est Lodi Avenue to his present address.
On motion of tiouncilman Rinn, Councilman Riggs
second, the Clerk was directed to place an order with the
Office of civilian Defense for four pieces of auxiliary
fire equipment, the same to be gasoline driven units
mounted on skids.
Business license applications No. 34.6, 347 and
348 were received and given first reading.
Claims in the amount of ;26,34..33 as audited
were ordered paid on order of Councilman '++eihe, seconded
by Councilman Rinn.

At this time, ;,-r. Drucauer of the Lodi
Ci•:itan Club appeared and asked an appropriation of.
430-00 to enable this club to present its application
at this Gear's convention to be held in 3akersfield
for the 19L3 Civitan Club's convention to be held in
Lodi.
City Attorney, Glenn 'd•est, reported that
Police Officer, Florance Shealor had filed suit in the
Superior Court against the Oouncil and City reasurer
and that the court had issued its alternate suit of
mandate returnable -:arch 21, 19L2. '.Vr. +est stated

Superintendent of Public Utilities, John A.
renninS a-ain asked that the wa3es of Far3 Lakles
be fixed at : 140.00 per month instead of jU : er hour
as at resent.
Councilman C. 3. 3ull recom.:-ended that the
office of =ark Superintendent be established and that the
Parti _alar duties of the, office be defined. it was
directed that a resolution establishing this office and
filing the particular duties and salary to be paid be
prepared for _resentat4on at the next reeting.
