The minutes of the last meeting held January 7, 1942 were read, - approved as read and so endorsed by the Mayor. No persons appearing at this time, the order of Public Herrings was passed and the Council proceeded to hear Communications and Reports, as follows: A letter from Dr =_ugh J.?olinger accepting the appointment as Trustee of San Joaquin Local Health District. A letter from the City Employees Association asking consideration for salary increases to those not given raises January 21, 1942 was laid over without action. quarterly Reports from the City Clerk and the City Treasurer were received, read and ordered filed. AM CP.DINANC3S" was finally passed, adopted and ordered printed by the following vote: AIS: Councilmen, BULL, RINK, RBCS, STEELE. NOSS: Councilmen, ',%= ABSENT: Councilmen, NONE. The Mayor then signed the ordinance in approval thereof. It a?pearing that certain minor changes in the wording of Resolut- ion No. 1110 adopted January 7, 1942 were necessary in order to make the same acceptable to the Trustees of the two Lodi School Districts, this Resolution was rescinded by the adoption of Resolution No. 1112, introduced by Councilman Rinn, 9eihe second and carried by unanimous vote of all Councilmen. Ia lieu of Resolution No 1110, rescinded as above noted,-EZSOLUTICN NO. 1113, entitled, " A RESOLUTION ESTABLLS11i.4G A WCREATION CO'3IISSION FOR Th CITY OF LODI , WD 3STABLISEING A SYSTEM OF RECREATION FCR SAID CITY, XCIIN T'1 XTF. LCDI UNION HI21 SCHCOL DISTRICT AND LOM ELE6'ENTARY SCHCOL DIS-LRICT " was intrmduced on motion of Councilman Rinn, Weihe second and adopted by unanimous vote of all Councilmen. Councilmen Riggs, a special cozmittee on the renting of the 18 acres easterly from the Sewage Disposal Plant reported adversely as to leasing the same, stating that the City would apparently have to use this lend during the coming Sumer and Fall. Report accepted. T?:e City Attorney not being present owing to illness in his family, no action was taken in the matter of delegating the assessment and collection of City taxes to San Joaquin County. City i-igineer Clinton Henning reported receipt of the Federal siren ordared December 17, 1941. The Council decided to avail itself of the offer of the vendor, given when the purchase vas made, to refuse to accept delivery, and the Clerk was directed to notify American Fire Equipment Company that the siren was available to them for delivery to soma other purchaser.
