This regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Lodi was called to order by the Mayor at B:OC o'clock P.M. at the place and on the date first above in .hese minutes written, Councilmen Bull, Rid=s, Ri:a, leihe andSteele present, none absent. The minutes cf the last meeting held November 26th, 1941 were read, app- roved es read and so endorsed by the Mayer. No persons appearing end there being no connnnications on file, the order of Public Hearings and that of Communications was passed and the City Council proceeded to heer and consider reports as follows: The retort of the Chief of Pblice for November and that of the Poundmaster for the same period were read and ordered filed. FOR SAID CITY n having been regularly introduced or. October 21, 1941, was brought up for passage on motion of t:eycr Steele, 3u11 second, second reading omitted by unanimous consent, and finally passed, adopted and ordered to p=int by the following vote: - AM: Councilmen Steele, Bull, Riggs, Rinn and Aeihe. t.Ci;3: Councilmen None. ASSENT: : Counc i Lmen None. The Mayor then signed the above captioned ord4nance in a•provel thereof. In order to secure appropriate recorded action in the adoption of a co- ordinated plan for joint operation of local recreational activities by and between. the City and the two Lodi School Districts, the City Attorney was directed to frame a suitable resolution for presentation at the next Council meeting. Mayor Steele retorted progress of the Co_nistee appointed to secure a suitable slab and memorial plaque to be erected as the Lodi Stadium honor- ing George 3. Lawrence, donor of the site and first Mayor of the City. Business license a:plications Nos 317 and 318 'were ordered granted. The tender of a large Christmas tree was accepted from Bozant Katzakian nes ;.per ed with thanks and Superintendent of Public Utilities, J. .F_enning, was directed to erect the same in the space on Pine Street between the :okay Arch and the Southern Pacific Railroad. The a-rlication of Signal Cil Company for permission to make alterations in its Service Station at 50 South Sacramento Street was granted, it appearing that shortage of steel 'could make frame construction necessary and also, that the isolated location of the station and the small size of the additions would tot __crease fire hazards or effect insurance rates. Application granted by assenting votes of four members of the Council, Councilman Bull not voting.
