7,IEDNESLAY, :_AY 14, 1941
The Cit,; Council of the City o: Lodi met in
special session at 7:00 o'clock ?. at the day and hour
first above written, all members thereof having previously
signed a waiver of notice and consent to the meeting. The
_:ayor being sli:7tly indisposed, Councilman mull was
appointed '..ayor protem and o~ened the meeting. The purpose
of the Meeting, as set forth in the waiver of notice and
consent, being for the consideration of bids opened :._ay 7,
1941 on trucks, the special committee consisting of Council-
men Eull, Craffigna, and 'kigas reported that after
consideration had been given to all bids received, that the
committee recommended that all bids be rejected and that
all equipment be Purchased in the open market. On motion
of Councilman Lraffign_ , seconded. by Councilman -jigs,
resolution =o. 1077 rejectin.2 the above mentioned bids and
electinn to purchase the eauipmert ir_ the open market was
introduced, read and adopted by the assenting .rotes of all
members of the Council.
:n motion of Councilman O-raffina, seconded by
Councilman •,eihe, resolution ..o. 1078 authorizing the yayor
to Purchase the trucks and body equipment was introduced,
read and finally passed and adopted by the assenting votes
of all members of the Council.
At this time, =sire Chief Earl May, appeared and
reported that the main crankshaft on the ;:o. 2 Seagrave :ire
Truck had broken in action and he was directed to have the
same replaced at once.
At the order of the Layor the Council adjourned.
