The minutes of the last meeting held -arch 9, 1941 were read, approved as read and so endorsees by the ':ayor. :=r.^Coffman erreser_tins the City �m:loyees' Association asked that the Council approve the employment of Public Administration Service for the installation of a merit system in the City. Coffman was told that this would be taken up u: -der head of new business. There bein; no communications or retorts on file the c'ounoil proceeded to hear the reports of committees. . Couicilman.. '_he resorted that there had been no Meeting with the Comet Lotorcycle Club and the L:ayor ordered that they be mi -;en more time in the location of a buildin= orthV of the 2tadium for this club. Councilman Eull r:,xorted that the Committee on ubli c Health and Safety had met and after a full and fair consideration_ of the necessity of a two-way radio for the police department did not deem it to be a present necessity and that the plan should be deferred until such time as freouenoy modulations should be further tried in other tests. The existins asreecent with the State Relief Administration for the assi;rr!ent of relief workers was authorized to be extenaed to June j.o, 1541 by the adoption of resolution .:o. 1070, made on motion of Councilman &raffi-,•na, seconded by L,ouncilman -eihe and carried by the unanimous vote of all members sresent. License aoolications :;o. 262 and 265 were ap_ro'fed and licenses ordered Eranted. The matter of the appointment of a member of the Council or an administrative officer of the 'Litt' to coordinate with the defense program at the Lodi Union aizh School was ordered referred to the Committee on Public Health and Safety for their recommendations. On motion of Councilman Veihe, seconded by Councilman draffigna, the Clerk was directed to write a letter to ='•:r. C.f. yreshour, custodian of Lawrence Park instructing him in the name of the Council to collect the sum of 0.50 unless the applicant exhibited an official receipt of the City Clerk from all organizations playing baseball in Lawrence Park and charge admissions therefor, excepting the :fames held under the auspicies of the Lodi Post of the American Legion-.
