JAINUARY 2, 1941 v
t This regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Lodi was
called to order at 8 o'clock ?X. on Wedr_esday;'3anuary 2, 1941, the first
day of Sanue_+y being a Holiday. Councilmen Bull, Graffigna, Ri.--.gs, Weihe
and Steele ('mayor) present, none absent.
The minutes of the last meeting held December 18, 1940 were read,
approved as read and so endorsed by the 1:ayor.
No persons appearing to be heard, the order of Public Hearings
has passed and the Council proceeded with the regular order of business.
The application of Lodi motorcycle Club for use of the Stadium
was re-referred to the Cosmittee on Parks for conference with members of
the Club. ...r Ezra Ehrhardt asked the Douncils assistance in its attempt
to secure a track at L:icka Grove from the Board of Swoervisors cf San
Joaquin County.
The matter of proposed leasing of Lodi Airport was ordered laid over
until a later meeting as no approval had been received from the Civil Aeron-
autics Authority.
License applications No 1768 and 1769 were approved, application
No. 1768 with the restriction that licensee stay back from the Oak Street
curb so as not to interfere with pedestrian traffic.
,Lr J.A.Henning presented a form of agreement with the State Relief
Administration for the employment of relief workers for the period January 1
to October 31, 1941 ar_d the 1:ayor was directed to execute the same and the
City Clerk to certify as to available funds by the adoption of Resolution No.
1066 by the following vote: -
AYES: Councilmen, Bull, Graffigna, Riggs, Weihe and Steele
NOES: Councilmen, None. ABSENT, None.
Claims as presented were allowed with the exception of that of
:ederal Electric Company for a fire alarm horn, ordered held until the
horn had been approved in its permanent location. The total amount of claims
allowed was $ 18$21.36.
Cn motion of Councilman Riggs, Weihe second, the City Engineer
was instructed to design and erect a suitable fire alarm tower on top of
the fire department drill tower.
Me i.:ayor a^pointed Councilman Bull and the City Clerk as a
Cc=-Ittee on Arrangements for the bi-monthly meeting of the Central Palley
Division of the League of California Cities to be held in Lodi on January
16th.
At 9:25 o'clock P.M. the Council adjourned at the order of the Mayor.
