Councilmen, Clark, Graf_igna, Spooner, ``+,eihe and Steele present, none absent. The re_nutes of the last meeting held February 6, 1939 were read, approved as red and so endorsed by the Nayor. i In the matter of the rezoning of certain property lying irLmediateiy Ydest of Nuzchins Street, it appearing thatduepublication of notice had been had and the matter coin -Ina on to be heard and no persons appearing in protest Resolution No. 988 was introduced on motion of Councilman Graffi7na, seconded by Councilin-an V.'eihe and carried by the unani:pus assent of all members of the Council. RESOL:-IGN NO. 988 VZHEREAS, in accordance :rith proceedings heretofore had before the City Plan.- Ing Com=.issicn and before this City Council, as :fill more particularly appear by reference to the minu-es of this City Council for rebruary 6, 1;=39 (Page 92, ,.ol. �ecords cf the Citv Ccancil) due publication of a ",: .ocice of Public rearing' in the matter of the proposed re- zoning and re-classification of certain lands lying between the est line cf Hitchins Street and a line one hundred 'iffy (170) feet westerly therefrom and extending from Lockeford Street to Lodi Avenue was 1had in the "Lodi crews -Sentinel" as is evidenced by the affidavit of D. D. Rinfret, the pri_cipai clerk of said Lodi =pews -Sentinel, which notice, among other things, and in accordance with the direction of this City council, stated that objections to said re-zonin_ and re-classifica;ion, would be heard before this City Council at the hour of 8:00 o'clock P...., of P::onday, ebr'wary 20, 1939 in t' -^e Council Chambers, City Hall, Lodi, Calif crnia, and, 1 ER AS, this being the dad:, hour and place so set for said '_nearing and the matter coming on to to heard and there being no objections :mitten_ or otherwise filed with tl-�e Cler_. of this Council and no persons appearing to be heard, now therefore, CE IT RESCUED, that this City Council finds that due-ublication of said "2:otice of Public Hearing" was had in time, form and ran ger as required by law and the order of this City Co,=ncil; that at the date and hour set for hearing, no objections to said re -zoning and re-classification were received and that, therefore, this City Council now has jurisdiction to rezone and re-classify kll that real property and improvements thereon lying between the west line of Hutchins Street and a lire 170 feet westerly t'r_erefrom and parallel thereto and extending from Lockeford Street to Lodi Ave-ue by removin_ the same from its present classification in t._.. "One and Two Family =residence District Zone" to the ":.inti raa:il,y esience District gone" by ordinance. C. D. Lloyd applied for the consent of the Council to a change in t: ^.e s1deline clearance provided in Ordinance 238. Zimbelmarn for a building permit at 218 zast Pine Street was granted on motion of Counci:.man eihe, seconded by Councilran Spooner it apearing that a complete play: for the two building units contemplated had been laid out before the passage of Ord_narce ='�o. 238. The City Buildin_ inspector asked for an opinion in the :latter of violat'ons of the State Housing Law by Jacob Dais on the premises at 312 East Locust Street. He was directed to enforce the provisions of the ordinance. The applicat-on of George W. Page to operate the concession at the Lake Park ::as read and ordered filed. Busir_ess license applications No. 23 to 29 were approved and licenses ordered granted. A letter was received from the District Engineer of the Division of High,vays in regard to "Stop and Go" signals at the intersection of Highways No. 4 and 21.x. The Clerk was directed to amply by letter and ask that a traffic count be made at this location. Council^ran `I'eihe stated that the Boy Scouts desired to hold a "Camporee" in Lawrence Paris April 30, 1S39 and also would like to use portions of the softball >rcunds. €fr. '-aeihe also reported on a meeting held with a comr_ttee fro^ the Chamber of Co.,:merce for the discussion of plans and specifications looking toward the erection Of a stadium in Pioneer Park. Gn motion of Councilr.an +Ge'he, seconded by louncil.^-an Clark it was stated that it was the policy of the Council to proceed with t..e construction of the corporation yard at the earliest possible moment and prepare for the erection of the first unit of the building. The Fire Chief, Earl May, addressed the Council in regard to an aux"liary fire truck and the City Engineer suggested that some arrangement be made for a supplimental fire supply for pumping in case of failure of the present power source. Mr. Kenneth Lobaugh submitted an estimate on public liability insurance for the City and the sane was ordered submitted as a whole to the City Council. The Council then adjourned on motion of Councilman 'Veihe.
