Clerk, Greffiene, Spconer, Weihe and Steele (favor) present, none absent. Ater calling of the roll, the Clerk read the minutes of the lest meeting held September 6, 1938; there being no corrections, the minutes were approved es read and so endorsed by the Mayor. No persons appearing before the Council at this time, the order of Public Hearings was passed and the Council proceeded to hear communications on file and presented. An application from L. Sherman conducting a "trailer camp" on the north-east corner of Cherokee Lane end Lockeford Roed for permission to rent tenting space was passed as it was held that the provisions of the ordinance regulating camp grounds now in process of preparation would cover this application. In the matter of the opening of Cherry Street westerly to Weehineton Street; several members of the Council voiced their opinion thet this should be undertaken under the street opening act and an assessment dist- rict formed if and when the opening of this street shculd be necessary. ,:tp_Iicstion No. 554 for a city license to conduct a shooting gallery on Best Ely: Street was granted to C.I•.romberg. The Committee of the Council appointed at the meetin¢ of September 6th to confer with the City Attorney and Mr J. P. Liebig in regard to the acquisition of a part of his lot at the south-east corner of Sacramento and Tokey Streets reported orally that there was still some distance between Mr Liebig's price and that which the Committee thought sufficient and the natter was allowed to stand until return of the City Attorney. Mr Emil Klapstein protested on behalf of other residents of the 500 block of East Walnut Street against the smell buildin?s proposed to be erected by John Stein at No. 522 Eest Walnut Street. He was informed that the City Building Department would do ell it yes possible to see that the requirements of the City zoning ordinance as it applied in this district, would be complied with but that this property being in a W.ulti Family Residence Zone" , group buildings could be erected legally. Ordinance No. 246 entitled "AN 0RDINANCE LEVYING TICKES FOR THE FISCAL YEAR ErEl/NITING JULY 1, 1939" having been regularly introduced and laid over at the meeting of September 6, 1938, was brought up for passage on motion of Councilman Graffigna seconded by Councilman Clark, second reading was omitted by unanimous consent anf the ordinance finally passed, adopted and ordered to print by the following vote; AYES: Councilmen, Graffigna, Clark, Spooner, Weihe and Steele (Lieyor) NOES: Councilmen, None. ;=33y'T: Councilmen, None. The Leyor then sinned the ordinance in approvel thereof. City Engineer Clinton Henning recommended that the Council adopt the "Uniform Building Code" of the Western Building Officials Conference and the suggestion meeting with approval, it was directed that a proper ordinance adopting this code by reference be prepared and submitted. No further business appearing, the Council then adjourned on motion of Councilman Spooner. of
