Cn motion off Councilan Spooner, seconded by Councilman
Graffi:ma, &action 3 and L of the Ordinance were amended
to read as follows:
"Section 3: For the turpose of enablins the
0-1-L7 Errineer to better carry out and erform the duties of
instector, there snall be ancointed annually by
the City ,,ouncii, an assistant to said City 1,rm1:ineer, Who,
unier the direction and supervision of the City ELnineer, shall
have char7e of said Suildinf, Department but all the collection
of data, detailed investisations and office mana;ement,
documents and re:torts of said ..)epartment shall be made and
siphed 17 said City .1ntineer Who shall be responsible for all
..ct4vities of said -:enartment. The tern of office of said
assistant shall be for the calendar year, or for such part
of tne oalenaar year as may be uneired at the time of his
