Letters from the League of California ;=unici_alities addressed to the City Council in care of the .iayor in retard to the district meeting to be held at Stockton on Lnmry 20th were read. The Clerk presented several notices from the State Board of Lqualization informing the Council of recent arplications for the sale of alcoholic beverames in the City. On motion o= Councilman '::eihe, seconded by Councilman Graffi.gna and carried, tine Clerk was directed to notify the State Board of Equalization that the City Council protested a_ainst the ­antin,'�: of any liquor license at No. 225 Vine Street, particularly the application of one Charles r'. Zilke doing business as "�iokelumne Lodge" at this place. The Layor informed several persons who had appeared to protest against the grartino of this license, that the Co,.incil wculd proceed in accordance with their wishes as these premises were included in the "Lulti-Family Residence gone. The quarterly report of the City Treasurer and that of the City Clerk were received, read and on notion of CounciI: n uraffigna, seconded by Councilman :ieihe, ordered filed. Four applications for business licenses viere ordered granted. The Clerk presented the report of the City ?lannina Comm=ission upon the petition of henry Fink, and others for the rezoning of certain properties in Block 10, Lodi Barnhart Tract. On motion of Councilman Clark, seconded by ConciLmn eihe, 6:00 o' clock of February 7, 1938 was set as the date for the hearing of any protests filed against such rezonir.;. On the recommendation of i,ir. J. A. Herring and on motion of Councilman Graffigna, seconded by Coancilran `i e=he, the iayor was authorized to execute an agreerent ;ith tae Facific Cas and r;lectric Company for the rental of transfor::iers and transportation of the same to be used during the transition period in the citys change of distribution of voltaGe.
