HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - December 7, 1945COU':.^.=L r: A;i3 RS CITY COUNCIL CITY HALL - CITY OF LODI FRIDAY, DECEMBER 7 — 1945 In pursuance of the adjournment taken from its regular meeting of December 5, 1945, the City Council of the City of Lodi met in adjourned regular session at 5:30 o'clock P.M. of Friday, December 7, 1945, Coun— cilmen .l. J. Coffield, W. E. Riggs, Harry J. Tolliver, Otto A. ?ieihe and Robert H. Rinn. present, none absent. Also attending were City Attorney Glenn West, Director of Recreation, Arvid 0. Pauly, City Clerk J. F. Blakely and several interested persons. On a.:plication of Mr Pauly, the City Council approved the execution of a license permit issued by the State of California to the Recreation Department for use of Lodi Armory during Winter months at a rental of a $60.00 per month. After further discussion of the impending sale of Block 36, Mokelumne by the Trustees of Lodi School District at public sale to be held December 11, 1945, Resolution No. 1246 entitled " Resolution Authorizing and Direct— ing the Mayor of the City of Lodi to Submit Bid or Bids for the purchase of a Certain Parcel of Land Offered for Public Sale by the Trustees of Lodi School District " was introduced on motion of Councilman Weihe, Riggs second and passed and adopted by the following vote: AYES: Councilmen leihe, Riggs, Coffield, Tolliver and Rinn. NOES: Councilmen, None. ABSENT: Councilmen, None. The purposes of the meeting being accomplished, the City Council adjourned on motion of Councilman +leihe. Att ptr-- / _ c J. F. SPECIAL MEETING TUESDAY,DECUIB.ER llth.,1945 A special meeting, after notice duly given in accordance with Section 858 of the Municipal Corporations Act, was called by the Mayor and held beginning at 7:30 o'clock P.M. of Tuesday, December 11, 1945, Councilmen Coffield, Riggs, Tolliver, 7leihe and Rinn having signed and filed a "Waiver of Notice and Consent to Special Meeting" prior to the hour of assembly. Councilmen Riggs, Tolliver, .leihe and Rinn present, Councilman Coffield absent. After consultation with City Attorney West as to proceedure to be taken before the Board of Trustees of Lodi School District, the City Council then adjourned this meeting to the office of the Superintendent of Schools of Lodi School District to attend the sale of Block 36, Mokelumne to be con— ducted by that Board at 8:00 o'clock P.M., Mayor Rinn having submitted the sealed bid directed by Resolution No. 1246 adopted December 7,1945. After opening the three sealed bids received, the President of said Board Of Trustees called for oral bids in accordance with law, and an auction being had, the City Council was informed that this property had been awarded to City of Lodi on its oral bid of $13 201.00 as the highest responsible bidder.
