Pursuant to the adjournment taken from its regular meeting of
December 3, 1947, the City Council of the City of Lodi met in adjourned
regular session at 8:00 F. M. of -3ednesd ay, December 10, 1947, Councilmen
Haskell, Lytle, Tolliver, and Rinn present, Councilman Riggs absent, the
City Clerk reporting him recovering but still unable to leave his home.
} The minutes of the last meeting held December 3, 1947, were read,
approved as read, and so endorsed by the Mayor.

Mr. Charles Kriegbaum, Adjutant of Lodi Chapter # 59, Disabled
D. A. V. lar Veterans, orally and by letter, requested that the Council
ASSIGUM allocate June 5, and 6, 1943, for use of Lodi Stadium by D. A. V.
STADIUM for the holding of a rodeo, the proceeds to go to the service
JUN- 5 fund of ti:is orga.lzati.on.
& 6, 1948 It was directed that these dates be assigned as requested, pro-
vidin�_: that neither conflicted with stadium use by Lodi Union
High School.

A letter from Leroy Plichols, Superintendent of Schools in answer
BASEBALL to the Council's request that the local school districts share
F.;RF. in the cost of Majorconstruction work contemplated at the Law-
rence Park Baseball. Field, stated that the Trustees -of Lodi
Union High School District had appointed a committee of two to
confer with the Council but that the Grammar School District
Board did not bel --eve that the use of a baseball field by its
pupils would justify their expending any money on this project.

The City Clerk's report of garbage fees for the month of November
and the report of the Superintendent of darks and Streets for

the same month were received, read and ordered filed.
City Treasurer Vincent C. ?.'ebb reported that he had o;,ened an

account for thedeposit of parking meter receipts in the Farmers
FUND DEPOSIT
and lZerchants Batik of Lodi. This account being madw by the
Treasurer in accordance with Act 283 (a) Deering -General Laws,
no objection was offered thereto.
Superintendent of Streets Bruner suggested that the City join
FRiI :IRS with Southern Pacific Company in the improvement of the Locust and
TO LOCUST Walnut Streets crossings in as much as that company contemplated
& '"ALTNUT repairs at these places shortly. As the estimated cost to the
ST. R. R. City would be between $800 and $1-00, Mr. Bruner and the City
CROS P.`GS Clerk were directed to investigate the responsibility of the City
as to street maintenance within the Southern Pacific right
of way.
The Lodi blaster Plu;bers filed a written objection to being in-

The Clerk was directed to advertise for sealed proposals for
CALL ;OR purchase of the City's requirements for gasoline, lubricating
GASCLIHE oils, and greases for the calendar year 1943.

SECS. classification of "Meter Reader -Collector" were approved and re-

of October 14, for 2 or 3 weeks was deferred to the December
17, meeting.
Superintendent of Utilities Killelea recommended that no provisions

RE-STRM Sacramento Streets before repaving as no plans for street
LIGHTING lighting in the down -town district had been adipted. Recom-

At 1^:25 o'clock P. M., Councilman Tolliver moved adjournment
and there being no objection, this meeting was then adjourned.
