The minutes of the last meeting held September 17, 1947 were read,
C:cilnan Lytle objecting to that part of Zesaut_on No. 13h3 relating to
parallel parking cn Street, stating that it was his understanding that
parallel parking ias to be extended :esterly to Church Street and not to
Fleasant Avenue as set forth in the resolution. -fter discussion, it a-pe,a-
ina that a future resolution '.Mould be necessanj in this meeting clearing up
this matter, the .;.inutes were approved as written and so endorsed by the
"ayor.
This being the time and place set for the hearing of
objections to the granting of a varience from the strict

then moved by Councilman Haskell, Tolliver second that
this varience be granted and so ordered.

less than five days.
Sealed bids for construction of tennis courts in the
north-east corner of Hale Fark were then opened after

be rejected and that informal proposals be solicited for

The City Clerk read a telegram from the City Attorney
of the City of Sacraaento relating to concerted effort

Councilman Lytle then brought up the matter of the over- crowded
City dumping grounds north of Joodbridoe Road, stating that
:.:essrs Mason and Loveless had reached the limit of their andura^_ce
of the continued stench and smoke and :_i;ht commence action to
abate this dump as a public nuisance. lir Lytle was requested to

City Engineer Clinton Henning then orally presented his resiG-

of the City, stating that he had been offered a position with

CT.T:dTC"T the .atomic Energy Com--6sion that was too attractive for him to

Ragretfully the Council accepted fir He..nin^s resignatien and
directed that a resolution of appreciation be drawn for sig—
nature of all members of the City Council, a copy thereof to
be presented hint as test5rtony of T.he hizh regard in which his
integrity and ability was held.
At 12.14 A.M. of October 2, 1947 the City Council adjourned on
motion of Councilman Riggs, such adjournment to be until
8:CO r.:t. of Jednesday, October 8, 1947.
