The City Council of the City of Lodi met in regular meeting be -
=inning at 3:12 P. M. of 'ednesday, June 4, 1947. Councilmen Haskell,
Lytle, Riggs, Tolliver and Rinn present, none absent. i -

Also attending City Attorney :lest, City Engineer Henning,
Fire Chief Polenske, Chief of Police ?ore and Building Inspector
Feckenlaible.
The minutes of the last meeting held :.Iay 22th were read, ap-
proved as read and so endorsed by the Mayor.
PUBLIC F.?ARVTGS:-
L'r. Leslie Mundy requested that the matter of

Street. Referred to the City Clerk and Super-
intendent of Public Utilities.
Chief of Police Fore reouested the construction.

of Streets Bruner for recommendation.

for objections, none were offered, either viritten
or oral. It was then moved by Councilman Haskell,
Riggs second, that Resolution No. 1329 be intro-
duced and read, said resolution directing the dis-
continuance of a minor portion of "Lawrence Park"
described therein, and its exchange for a contig-
uous larger parcel of land owned by Lodi Post No. 22,
Inc. Resolution No. 1329 was then adopted by the
following vote:

Henning was granted annual vacation leave beginning
about July 17th and extending to August 5th.
f The Clerk read a letter from Mr. E. D. '_:ood;,,, Super-
intendent Southern Eacific complaining that burning
of rubbish along the west line of the City dumping
CITY grounds endangered that company's Haber trestle
J)L7-T leading to the Yokelumne River beidge. It was dir-
COMPLnINTS ected that the Persons in charge of the dump ground
be warned against further burning along the railroad
right of way and that the principal partner of Sani-
tary Scavanger Company be asked to appear before the
City Council to answer complaints of unfair treatment
of persons depositing rubbish at the dump.
Mr. Reuben P. Rott submitted his written resignation
as a member of the Lodi City :'lanning Coaaission,
F3SIGI,TIO'J which was accepted as Mr. Pott's statement made it

C.P.C. position. It was directed that the City Clerk con-

office vacated by Mr. Rott and it was so ordered.
On recommendation of Street Superintendent t. L.
Bruner, Standard Stations, Inc. were granted an en -

croachment permit to allow the installation of 3000

gallon gasoline storage tank in the sidewalk space

abutting on that companys station on the Northwest

corner of Zlm Street and Cherokee Lane, such tank
to be installed in accordance with the rules of the
Board of Fire Underwriters at such location as speci-
fied by the Street Superintendent.
Street and Park Surerintendent Bruner presented his

monthly report relating to his department for Lay.

Reports of the Chief of Police and of the City 'round -
master for the same period were also received.
