M. of Wednesday, April 16, 1947 Councilmen Haskell, Lytle, Riggs, Tolliver and Ring, present, none absent. The minutes of the adjourned regular meeting of April 9th were read, approved as read and so endorsed by the Mayor. PUBLIC .-.'R I! GGS: This being; the time, hour and place set for the open- ing of sealed proposals for the £urn -+.shin£ a mechanic - STREET al sweeper, due publication of Notice to Bidders was .�"='VER proven by affidavit and the City Council proceeded to BIDS publicly open and declare the three bids received: OPENED Edward F. 'ale Co. '?a•ne Sweeper 37,677.25 Edward R. Bacon Co. .Tustin Western 5,169.22 Same Same 6,325.26 Coast Equipment Co. Lorraine 6,913.75 All bids were referred to a committee consisting of Councilmen Lytle, Street Supt. Bruner and City Engineer Henning for consideration and report to the Council at its April 23rd meeting. Messrs. Mason Smith, interested in tree and vine- yard lands west of Lake Park complained of trespass on their property by alleged patrons of the park. Complaint referred to Chief of Police Fore, Street Supt. Bruner and Councilman Lytle to see if :means could be devised to eliminate the cause of complaint. COMMUNI:.TICNS - NCTICES - REPORTS Lodi Retail Merchants Bureau requested, by letter, that the City cooperate with. its proposed "Clean CLEAN-UP up, Faint up, Spruce up" weed: for the week beginning WEEK May 5th. The Council assured the Merchants Bureau that it is in full accord with this program and would assist in the fullest measure possible but that it :gust be understood that free collection of rubbish would be for this week only. On his estimate of ;671.98, Street Superintendent Bruner was authorized to purchase sufficient street matching materials for Summer and Fall. Street Supt. Bruner called attention to the Council to sixteen pedestrian approaches spanning gutters T'UTTER in the town -town district, stating that most of them C'C S3VE?..5 were in dan;erous condition and recommending removal where the curb is eight inches or less in height. Recommendation approved and approaches ordered removed. D.WIES On application of City Judge J. C. Ferguson, Justice T. 0. Davies of Lockeford was appointed City Judge, pro -tem until such a time as Judge Ferguson recovers from his present illness. Notice of the application of Mitsue Masui for an on- `_:ITSUE sale beer and wine license at 20 N. Main Street, ap- ".'-S!:T_ proved by the Chief of Police, was received from the State Board of Equalization. An estimate prepared by the Claude C.
