WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 4, 1948.
This regular meeting of the City Council cf the City of Lodi was
called to order by the Mayor at 8:00 o'clock P. M. of 7lednesday, August 4,
1948, Councilmen Bull, Haskell, Lytle, Tolliver, and Rinn (Mayor) present,
none absent.
Copies of the minutes of the last meeting held July 28 having been
furnished each Councilman prior to this meeting, no errors or omissions were
noted, and it was then ordered that the same be approved as written. Motion
Councilman Haskell, Lytle second.

POLICY
A request from the Recreation Department for use of Lodi
Stadium on the evening of August 26 for the presentation of
a Playgr3und ?agaent. Request approved and permission granted,
motion Councilman Bull, Haskell second.
Presented the Annual Report of George D. Polenske, Chief of
the Fire Department, furnishing copies to each Councilman and
for the record, also reports for the month of July from:
City Judge, J. C. Ferguson
Street and ?ark Superintendent, W. L. Bruner —
City Treasurer—Collector, Vincent C. Webb
Chief of Police, Millard L. Fore
Councilman Haskell requested that the City Manager see that
the regulation requiring parallel parking on the 100 block
of East Elm Street be enforced. • •
A final sap entitled "Tract 201, Subdivisions of San Joaquin
County 'DAWSON TRACT" being a subdivision of a part of Tract
4 of Burr's Addition to Lodi was submitted for approval. The
City Planning Commission having approved the tentative map,
City Engineer A.•C. iieckenlaible certified that this final map
was in substantial agreement with the tentative map. It was
moved by Councilman Bull, Haskell second, that this map be ap—
proved as a legal subdivision. '.lotion carried and map endorsed
by the Mayor. This motion was passed with the restriction that
the City made no commitments as to the time when public utility
services would be placed in the tract.
Transfer of the "off sale general" alcoholic beverage license
at 117, 119, 121 East Fine Street from Maria Peirano et al to
John R. Canepa, and Leroy J. Fezzi as recommended by the
Chief of Felice was approved. Business license applications
received since the last meeting were read and ordered referred
to the Chief of Police in accordance with ordinance.
Notice of the application of Rebert Z. Dietderich to appropriate
water from Patty Creek was received from the State Division of
?later Resources. It was directed that this application be brought.
to the attention of the attorney for Northern San Joaquin ''later
Conservation District, in process of formation.
A statement of the policy adopted by the State Highway Commission
in the selection of the location of "freeways" in or near
cities was read by air. +Yeller.

1947, it was directed that he be &!lowed the customary two
weeks vacation with pay, that is, his term of office would
really expire on September 30, 1948, providing that he served
to the 15th.
