Tn LIC t1 :BRINGS - 11r lack Miller, Attorney for Igloo Frozen Foods Company addressed the Council in protest against the refusal of an itinerant vendor's license to his client, contrasting PPO•lEST VS the fee exacted by Ordinance No 277 of this City with LICMisz- z= that unposed in Stockton. Mr uiller asked that the Council AND Ral:,L reconsider this a?plication and if possible fix, by a OF LIGMiSE temporary interim ordinance, a fee comparable to that TO IGLOO charged vendor's from push -carts in Stockton. :,ir =ller r_AaEN F: ODS was advised to have his client renew his a;_lication and submit it to the City Council for conside=tion. Bruner by letter advised BM,,Dv^.R--?M'^ against the renting of the eighty foot -wide strip in Lot APPLIC..TION 14, Live Oak Colony Pio. 1 to Alvin Bender but recormended D2NM that ..r Bender be allowed to clear off brush and trim the trees along the south end of this strip so as to increase visibility. Racormendation approved. Superintendent of Streets Bruner rececmaended that "straight face" curbs be installed on State Highway 4 (Cherokee Lane) 3IDv.LaL1C instead of the present roll type curbs so as to prevent PAitMTG ON automobile parking on the sidewalk space, particularly on CHEROn,:,,. LANE the portion of this highway between Lodi Avenue and Locke - ford Street. Some objections were o_fered to this proposal as the present curbing is in good condition and but few places have this objectional parking. T= Bruner, however, ..as authorized to take this matter up with the State Divis- ion of Highvays and ascertain if their plans could be adapted to include straight face curbing or if other means could be suggested to keep vehicles off the sidewalk space. Investigation of the problems of Standard Oil Company in S.O.CO. SS gaining access to its service station on the Northwest corner STA APP- ACH of School and Yine Streets with large transport trucks was reported by :,•s Bruner as being solved without leaving the present driveway i=nediately North of rine Street open. The City Clerk was instructed to prepare and present a resolution to this effect. City Treasurer Vincent C.
