This adjourned regular neeting of the City Council of the City of Lodi
held beginning at 8:00 o'clock P.M. of Wednesday, June 30, 1948, Councilmen
Bull, Haskell, Lytle, Tolliver and Rinn (Mayor) present, none absent.

addressed the Council in protest against the refusal of
an itinerant vendor's license to his client, contrasting

against the renting of the eighty foot -wide strip in Lot

that ..r Bender be allowed to clear off brush and trim the
trees along the south end of this strip so as to increase
visibility. Racormendation approved.
Superintendent of Streets Bruner rececmaended that "straight
face" curbs be installed on State Highway 4 (Cherokee Lane)

instead of the present roll type curbs so as to prevent

automobile parking on the sidewalk space, particularly on

the portion of this highway between Lodi Avenue and Locke -
ford Street. Some objections were o_fered to this proposal
as the present curbing is in good condition and but few
places have this objectional parking. T= Bruner, however,
..as authorized to take this matter up with the State Divis-
ion of Highvays and ascertain if their plans could be
adapted to include straight face curbing or if other means
could be suggested to keep vehicles off the sidewalk space.

at the same time. The City Clerk was instructed to prepare
and present a resolution to this effect.

was brought up for passage on motion of Councils- Lytle,
Tolliver second, second reading omitted by unanimous consent,
and then passed, adopted and ordered to print by the follow-
ing vote:

NOES: Councilmen, None. ABSENT- Councilmen, None.
Mayor Rinn then signed Ordinance No 373 1n approval thereof.

The City Clerk was directed to advertise for sealed proposals

with these owners allowing the City a reasonable time in
which to remove improvements and facilities installed by
the City subsequent to the effective date of the license
agreement. The City Clerk was directed to notify J.Ifiade,

1182farket Street, San Francisco, by letter in the name of
the City Council waiving the thirty days notice and stating
that satisfactory arrangements had been made with the two
property owners involved.
The desireability of constructing a drainage ditch along the
DITCH ON S. south line of the City's 303 acre liquid waste disposal
=iA 303 AC. site in cooperation with the owner or lessee of the property

City Attorney Glenn Fest reported on progress of negotiations

Couttcilnnn Bull mentioned that by order of the Chief of

& C;_.??LING clubs in the City and if this order was to be enforced, that

other parts of the City, particularly on Sacramento Street.

..:ayor Ri.^.n read a letter from Herbert A. Olson,?+iestern repr-

suggesting that the amount of the agreement be increased from
$7 400 to 9 000. On motion of Councilman Tolliver, Haskell
second, the agreement was authorized to be amended to a sura
of not to exceed $9 000. Llotion carried.
Councilman Lytle asked immediate action to prevent City
CI.7- 0!3M owned boats from being taken from Lodi Lake nark into the

Several su�gestions were offered, none satisfactory, and the
matter ordered referred to itecreation Director Yauly for
much action as .-..=Id remedy this dangerous condition.
