This regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Lodi
ROLL CALL held Wednesday, May 19,1948 beginning at. 8:00 P.M. Councilmen
MINUTES OF Bull, Haskell, Tolliver and Rinn present, Councilman Lytle
PREVIOUS absent.
]MEETING The minutes of. the last meeting held May 12,1948 were read, �
approved as read and so endorsed by the Mayor.
This being the time and place set by Resolution No. 1418
adopted April 21,1948 for a public hearing on the intention
of the City Council to annex Lots 15 and 22 of the Gerard

Councilman Haskell seconded this motion and the ordinance

On the written recommendation of Street Superintendent W. L.
Bruner, award of contracts for furnishing materials and the
rental of equipment on which bids were opened May 12th were

This resolution passed by the following vote:
AYES: Councilmen Bull, Haskell, Tolliver and Rinn.
NOES: Councilmen, None. ABSENT : Councilman, Lytle. ±_
State Compensation Insurance Fund notified the City Council
COMPENSATION
by letter that owing to the high loss experience of the City

in 1947, no dividend would be paid on compensation insurance
premiums for that year.

additional men were employed in the lines of work in which
he had been engaged,
APRIL REPORT
The April report of the City Treasurer was received and

conies furnished each Councilman.
Business license applications submitted May 5th were approved
except that of Blanche Gabrielli 201, South Main and all
applications received since that date referred to the Chief
of Police.

At 9:50 P.Lt. the City Council was resolved into Committee
of the Whole so remaining until 10:20 P.U. when open meet-
ing was resumed.
Execution of a lease on the westerly 25 acres of the land
PARADELA LEASE purchased from Fredrickson & Natson to A. Paradela was
APPROVED approved, rental to be at $30.00 per acre for the crop
year
At 11:25 P.}L. the City Council adjourned to 8:00 P.M. of
Wednesday, May 26, 1948, motion of Councilman Tolliver.
