Councilmen present: Bull, Haskell, Lytle, Tolliver and Rinn (Mayor). Councilmen absent : None. Minutes of meeting of September 21, 1949 approved without correction. In the absence of City Manager H. D. Weller, on vacation, City Clerk J. F. Blakely presented the agenda to Mayor Rinn, who conducted the meeting. A public hearing was then held on the proposed rezoning of a strip of land lying South of West Lodi Avenue and extending nine hundred fifty-seven feet Westerly from the center line of REZONING ON South Hutchins Street to the city limits as proposed by the City WEST LODI AVE. Planning Commission. No persons appeared to protest and the City WEST OF Clerk reported that no written objections had been filed with him. rJTCHINS ST. ABSENT: Coincilman, None. Mayor P.inn then signed Ordinance No.400 in approval thereof. TRANSFER On notice from the State Board of Equalization that W. A. Lorenz LI@UOR intended to transfer the "On Sale Beer & Wine License" at 8 S. license Main Street to W.A.Lorenz and Lillian V. and Lawrence McGrath; 8 S.MA.IN the Chief of Police reported no objections and the Council took no action thereon. M- Dor_ Bailey protested the purchase of camera equipment by the DX B.UlZY Police Department from an Oakland supplier. Complaint ordered investigated and report made to Council of Mets. In the matter of the purchase of two automobiles for use of the Police Department, bids opened September 19th, Millard L. Fore, Chief of Police presented his written reco=endation that the City purchase one Plymouth sedan from Mitchell & Koenig, AXARD OF TWO without generator, regulator and battery at $1,537.13 and one AUTOMOBILES Packard sedan from H.G.Hentschel at $1,891.951 the latter car RTES. 1491 to be fully equipped at this price. After checking the various items listed by Mr Fore as influenc- ing his choice end the probable use of these cars, particularly the Packard sedan, award was made in accordance with the above recommendation by the adoption of Resolution of Award No. 1491 introduced by Councilman Bull, Haskell second and passed with- out dissenting vote. This Commission had directed its Planning Consultant, Mr Cli£gord Gatzert, to prepare maps of this region with the purpose of reviving former efforts to convert it into public park and recreation grounds.
