August 3, 1949 Present: Councilmen, Bull, Haskell, Lytle, Tolliver and Mayor Rinn. Minutes of. previous meeting held July 20,1949 approved as written. REPORTS OF THE CITY MANAGER - - City Judge J. C. Ferguson, through, the City Manager,. submitted RESIGNATION his resignation effective. August 1, 1949, resl%ning on aoccunt T.C.FERGUSON of ill health. Mr Ferguson's resignation was accepted with the CITY JUDGE sincere regret of all members of the City Council and the City Manager was requested to express the regrets of the Council and extend their best wishes for his recovery,,by letter. City Manager Weller reported that no bids for the removal of REM04AL OF the Municipal Baths Building had been received in answer to BATHS BLDG, published notice. It was than moved by Councilman Bull. NO HIM. Tolliver second, that the City Manager proceed to negotiate RES.1482 a coutract,or contracts for this work from licensed contractors ADOPTED at the best figure obtainable. This direction was contained in Resolution No. 1482 adopted by unanimous vote of all members of ,the City Council. Bids opened by the City Manager on August 2nd for the construct- ion of a refreshment stand at Lodi Stadium were as follows: CONTRACT FOR CONNCESSIONi Robert Beglau ................... $ 2,890.00 - STAND AT Lewis P. Singer, Tr ............. 3,650.00 LODI STADIUM James Culbertson & Son.......... 3,650.00 ANARM TO R.BSMAU On recommendation of the City Manager, award of contract was RES.1483 made to Robert Beglau by the adoption of Resolution No. 1483 introduced by Councilman Lytle, Bull second, all members of the City Council voting for the passage of this resolution. The City Planning Commission having approved the annexation of AN KE(ATION a 4.55 acre tract in Tract 7, Burr's Addition now armed by SCHNEIDER TR, Schneider Brothers, the City Clerk was directed to prepare the initiated. necessary Resolution of Intention to Annex required by the Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1931 and submit the same at the.next Council meeting. _ The City Planning Commission, by letter, advised the City Council PEIRANO TRACT that it had approved the tentative map of PEIRANO TRACT at its August 1st meeting. The City Planning Commission reported that it had held a public hearing on August let on the petition of William. S. Barron REZaNING seeking commercial zoning of the South 90 feet of Lot 20 in NW COR DAISY Block 1 of ForreaV e Addition. No objections had been made and & LINCOIN the Commission submitted the matter of this rezoning to the City SET FOR Council for further action.pursuant to lax and ordinance. A HEARING public hearing, to be held August 17th at 8:00 P.M. was ordered and the Clerk directed to publish notice thereof, on motion of Councilmen Tolliver, Lytle second. OGA Teruko Oso was granted a card and dice game license at C & D LICENSE No. 24 North Main Street in accordance with Ordinanos E7?. City Manager Weller submitted an estimate prepared by W. L. SNVOU NG Bruner, Street and Park Superintendent setting $ 1,634.50 POOL FENCIlRG as the' cost of erecting a wire fence around the Hole Park BIDS ORDERED swimming pool on removal of the baths building. At 11;37 P.M. Councilmen Tolliver moved adjournment to 5:00 P.M. of Wednesday, August 10, 1949 and so ordered. This budget had been printed in booklet form and copies furnished each Councilman and made available to the general public before this meeting. No - persons appeared seeking explanation of the bddget although BUDGET wide publicity had been given by publication of major items BEARING and the contemplated total, expenditures. In answer tm O®INANCE inquiries by Councilmen Bull, Miss Any L. Boynton, Librarian NO. 396 of Lodi Public Library explained the various items set forth INTRODUCED in the concise requestmade by the Library Board. Various items of the budget were discussed and details supplied by Mr Weller.
