HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - July 6, 1949370 COUICIL CHAMBERS CITY COUNCIL CITY HALL - CITY OF LODI WEMZ=Y, JULY 6,1949 This regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Lodi held beginning at 8;00 otclock P.M. of Wednesday, July 6, 1949, Councilmen Bull, Haskell, Lytle, Tolliver and Rion present, none absent. The minutes of the last meeting held Tunsl5, 1949 were approved as written, copies having been mailed each Councilman prior to this meeting. Mr Wilson H. Thompson, President of the Board of Trustees of Lodi Public Library presented the annual report of the City Librarian socom- panied by a summary of the Library Budget for 1949-1950, the latter scheduling the sum of $30,053.91 for expenditure during that period. City Librarian Amy L. Boynton answered qusetions of various City Council- men regarding items of the 'budget, particularly salaries. At the order of the Mayor, the report and budget was ordered received and referred to the City Manager for consideration at the time of the presentation of the annual city budget. At the suggestion of Councilman Bull, residents of DOMP GBOMM. the Fourth Snpervisoral District were allowed use of this facility until July 31, 19490 such extension being made in order to allow the Board of Supervisors time in which to secure a new -rubbish disposal site or enter into an agreement with the City for use of its property. City Manager Weller said F>ELD USE that the City a charge would be $20.00 for the field, inc- luding lights and use of the Stadium showers, users to collect the agreed admission charge of 109f from all spectators. The prices named by Mr Weller were than approved for the present season. H. H. McJMrroy and his agents Carl T. Lind and Son having failed to complete the purchase of the forty acre tract of land RES. 1478 in Section 31, TW,R" originally purchased by the City for CANCRaLING a refuse disposal site, it was directed that the $19000 deposit AGHMEM made in the name of H.
