This regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Lodi held
beginning at 8;00 otclock P.M. of Wednesday, July 6, 1949, Councilmen
Bull, Haskell, Lytle, Tolliver and Rion present, none absent.
The minutes of the last meeting held Tunsl5, 1949 were approved as
written, copies having been mailed each Councilman prior to this meeting.
Mr Wilson H. Thompson, President of the Board of Trustees of Lodi
Public Library presented the annual report of the City Librarian socom-
panied by a summary of the Library Budget for 1949-1950, the latter
scheduling the sum of $30,053.91 for expenditure during that period.
City Librarian Amy L. Boynton answered qusetions of various City Council-
men regarding items of the 'budget, particularly salaries.
At the order of the Mayor, the report and budget was ordered
received and referred to the City Manager for consideration at the time
of the presentation of the annual city budget.

City Manager Weller read an application made by Califor-

Streets.
A letter signed by Mrs B. Sayler, similar in substance

Tacit approval of an agreement with the State Division
of Highways for the -drainage of portions of State High -
HIGHWAY ways 4 and 24 was given. This agreement would allocate

AGFXZW IT moneys now credited to the City,for a joint drainage
line along State Highway 4 with the City continuing to
handle storm waters on this highway South of its junction
with Highway 24 at the'Log Cabin. Foroal agreement to
be submitted later.
The City Council then informally discussed the problems
_involved, if and when', San Joaquin -Calaveras Council,

the City's policy in regard to allowing the district to
dispose of its sewage through the City's system. The
City Council desiring more time to consider the various
problems that would be involved.
The final map of " Tract No. 228, Subdivisions of San Joaquin
County, Map of Barbour-Beclm+en Tract No. 2 " consisting of
eleven lots, being that portion of the tentative map approved
by the City Planning Commission June 6, 1949 lying East of
the Northerly projection of South Lee Avenue, was approved

Councilman Lytle transmitted a complaint made by Dr D.H.
Stennick regarding standing water in the gutters on South
California Street. Councilman Tolliver reported a similar

Councilman Ball stated that Lodi Civitan Club, sponsors of the
opening game in renovated Lawrence Park Baseball Field bad
CHARMS FOR obtained an estimate of City charges and that these charges
BASEBALL amounted to $47.50 for this night. City Manager Weller said

luding lights and use of the Stadium showers, users to collect

prices named by Mr Weller were than approved for the present
season.
H. H. McJMrroy and his agents Carl T. Lind and Son having
failed to complete the purchase of the forty acre tract of land
RES. 1478 in Section 31, TW,R" originally purchased by the City for
