HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - May 25, 1949362 C01P CIL CHAMBERS CITY COUNCIL CITY HALL - CITY OF LODI ;ELLESak , M Y 25,1949 Pursuant to the adjournment taken from the regular meeting of May 18, 1949, the City Council of the City of Lodi met in adjourned regular session at 5:00 o'clock P.U. of Wednesday, May 25, 1949, Councilmen Easkell, Lytle and Mayor Rina present; Councilmen gull appeared as the bids on the stadium seating were opened and took his seat in the Council. City Manager Vdeller furnished Mr Bull with a tabulation of the bids as opened. City Manager H. D. Weiler reported that he had had an investigat- ion Dade of the existing drieeway approaches to gasoline service stations on Cherokee Lane by Street Superintendent of Streets Bruner and that from Mr Bruner's report, it is evident that the request of Shell Oil Company for one each 30 foot and 34 foot driveways on Cherokee Lane and one 28 foot and one 30 foot ones on East Welret Street to serve that Company's pracosed gasoline service station on the Northeast corner of Walnut Street and Cherokee Lane, would conform to similar stations in this locality. On motion of Councilman Lytle, Haskell second, permission sought ordered granted. This being the time and place to which the opening of sealed bids for the construction of additional seating in Lodi Stadium had been continued (cf. minutes of Nay 18th), these bids were then ope:ed in the presence of many of the bidders: Bidder Alt#1 Alt#2 - 1 .:?atson $ 22,630.00 27,700.00 Schneider Bros. 29,700.00 29,700.00 Wm. Burkhardt . ?;o bid 26,512.61 F..Brown & F.Iaus No bid 40,301.00 Remy glebe 31,865.00 29,685.00 G.3.Dickhoff 27,700.00 30,280.00 All bids referred to the City Manager for investigation, recond- ation and report at the June 1st meeting. 7.F.Watson entered oral protest against considering the bid of William Burkhardt, olaiaing that Bu_kbgrdt was licensed as a concrete contractor only and not as a gereraal contractor under the state law.
