This regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Lodi held beginning
at 8:00 P.Y. Of 'Yednesday, Mares 16, 1949; Councilmen Bull, Haskell., L;Ttls,
Tolliver asd Rina (Mayor) present, none absent.
"inutea of the last meeting held March 2, 1949 were approved as written
'City Manager H. D. Seller presented a proposed contract -With
the Board of Directors o: Lodi District Chamber of Commerce
relating to the payment of the costs of adding sections of
seats in Lodi:Stadium. Mayor Sinn suggested several amendments,
(1) restricting the,City�s reimbursement payments to the amount
COKT3ACT WITH of the admissions tax on games covered by the contract, (2)
LODI DISTRICT providing a limitation on the tern of the contract, (3)eacluding
mu. -M or any period in which the United States might be at wax from the

ADDITIoiiAL change but would benefit both parties to the agreement. It was

Mr Clifford Catzert and representatives to be chosen by the Chamber
of Coerce to review the plans and prepare the same for adoption
so that advertisement for bids could be had at ea early date.
Several interested persons being in attendance, Mayor Rinn renuest-
ed that the report of the City Planning Ccmission covering its
recommendation in the matter of the use of the City owned lot on
tae Southwest corner of Pleasant Avenue and Loakieford Street,
ca=only called the " tin berm " lot,be read. The Planning Cc=-
" TIPN RUN " fission rsammended that this lot be left in its present status as
PROM14T a non-conforzing use in that rezoning to commercial use would not

:ir,STPJCTIOr:S It was directed, motion Councilmen Haskell, Bull second, that
the lot be advertised for sale with ten foot budading set back
required f= Lockeford Street and a building line of five feet
from the west line of Pleasant Avenue as now existing, the City
to guarantee the issuance of a use permit, if necessary, of the
rezoning of the lot to lesser restrictions than now obtaining,
(except for industrial use), if the proposed use by a buyer met
with City Council approval. Bids to be received April 6th.
Lir Weller read a fetter from San loaquin-Calaveras Counoil',Inc.
Bop Scouts of America requesting a ninety -day option on the
Mdnicipal Baths Building, Locust and Stockton Streets, proposing
to acquire this building, remove it to a location Basterly from
the present and to expend some $22,050.00 in adapting it to their
B.S.A. use as a meeting place. Emil Reiswig and P.obert H. =on represent -

on necessary funds to convert the building into a suitable head-
quarters. It appearing that none of the forcer applicants for
the baths building had telasn any steps to present plans for its
use or made eny attempt to follow up their applications, it was
moved by Councilman Bull, Lytle second, that Sen Joaquin -Calaveras
Council, B.S.A. be granted a ninety day, option to acquire this
building In accordance with the statements contained in the letter
first above mentioned.

Lodi Motorcycle Club requested a downward adjustment on admiss- j

On the recomendation of the Superintendent of Public Utilities

BASE BAIL of $500.00 to install two practice base ball diamonds on the
