PIEDNEMAY, OCTOBER 4, 1950
This regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Lodi held
beginning at 8:05 P.M. PST of October 4, 1950, Councilmen Hull, Haskell,
Preszler, Rinn and Tolliver present, none absent.
Minutes of the last regular meeting held September 20, 1950 and of
a special meeting held September 28th were approved as written.
REPORT OF THE CITY UMGER -
City Manager H.D.Weller read an invitation for City Council -
TRACY MTG men and City officials to attend the next quarterly meeting
C.Q.D.-L.C.C. of the Central. Valley Division of the League of California
OCT 12 - Cities to be held in Tracy on October 12th. All Councilmen i
and the City Manager signified intention of being present.
On application by letter addressed to the City Maffi®ar,

Mr Weller presented the sole bid received and opened October
2nd for widening Lodi Avenue, Church to Etrtchins, that of
AWARD CMMACT Claude C. Wood Commmy. The price quoted, $8,133.25 being

AVE= to that Company, conditioned upon the securing of the few

and passed by unanimous vote.
Report and recommendation of award of contract for construct-

On receipt of a letter frac the City Clerk stating that all

In connection with Southern Pacific Ccmpamy+s application
for permission to relocate tracks in Oak and Walnut Streets,
held up by reason of Southern Pacificts delay in arranging
for the widening oT the Tolmy Street crossing, Ur Weller
read an offer from A.S.McCann, Superintendent of that Company
S.P.COUPANY stating that S.P. would ezpend some $2,600 in installing

CROSSING an obstructing signal standard and pay the cost of improving
additional' right of way. She City Sagiaeer estimates that
the City•s cost would be about $2,100.00, whereas the City
Manager's authority in this matter allowed but $1,000.
All Councilmen agreed that this problem should be settled as
it had been pending for over four years, so the City Manager
was instructed to hiava Southern Pacific prepare the necessary
agreement for approval of the City Council. So ordered.
