Councilmen Bull, .Preszler,:Binn and Tolliver present; Councilman Haskell absent but assenting to this meeting as above stated. City Clerk, T. F. Blakely, acting for City lhmger H. D. Weller now out of the City on vacation:presented the offer of Roy K. Miura submitted by Carl T. Lind, to purchase Block 36 Mokelumne, generally known as " Salem School Grounds " for $35,000 and tendering a check for 43,500 payable to the City as evidence of his sincerity. It appearing that the purpose for which this parcel of land was purchased no longer exists, the City having purchased a ten acre tract further south for park and play grounds, the Councilmen present proceeded to state their ideas of the value of the property. No offer better than $25,000 -had ever been received and this ]atter figure seemed to be the general opinion of real estate agents as about the true value of it. The parcel being off the tax rolls brings in no returns and the Council was unanimous in its opinion that its present temporary use as a storage yard should be discontinued. Finally, it was decided that the City accept the offer but that the buyer assume such part of the real estate agents commission and of the casts of transfer so that the City would receive a net of 434,000. In accordance with this decision, Resolution No. 1563 was introduced by Councilman Rinn, Bull second and carried by the follow- ing vote: AYES: Councilmen, Rinn, Bul1, Preszler and Tolliver NOES: Councilmen, None. ABSENT: Councilmen, Haskell. As the waiver of notice also contained a clause that the Council at this time would affirm the sale of the Lodi Armory property to the State of California beik, the City Clerk reported that the deed and agreement for sale received from the State was defective Lathe des— cription of the lots to be conveyed as agreed upon between Mr Weller and the Adjutant General's office, so no action was taken at this time. The City Clerk requested a ruling from the Council on the amount to be charged the " llhnteca Falcons " for use of the Lodi Stadium on September 30th. awes held that the regular cleanup charge should be made in the agreement but that this be adjusted if the " Falcons" had been charged or had paid 4200.00 fora previous gams, which 4200.00 included a clean up charge of $100.00. At the order of the Lhyor, the City Council adjourned at 5:55 P.M.
