This regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Lodi held Wednesday,
Tune 7, 1950, begin"_'rg at 8:14 o'clock P.M., Councilmen Bull, Haskell, Pressler,
Rinn and Tolliver present, none absent.
:mutes of the last meeting held L.y 17th were approved as written, copies
having been furnished each Council en prior to this meeting.
REPORT OF ME CITY 1 :;AC i -
City :.a.^.ager Weller again called attention to the Institute for
City Councilmen to be held in Berkeley under the auspices of
the League of California Cities on Tune 9th. Four Councilmen
stated that they would attend. Ll Weller also reminded Council-
men interested that the meeting of the State Parole Board to
which they had been invited, would be held in San Quentin Prison
on June 13th.
Li Weller stated that his budget of expenditures proposed for
the 1950-51 fiscal year :vas completed and would be ready for
1950-51 approval June 21st. bayor Tolliver suggested an interim meeting
BUDGET to consider the budget. At the suoestion of Councilman Haskell
DISC05S:CU it was decided that such a meeting be held at 7:30 P.M. of
TUNE 12 - L:cnday, Tune 12th , the Council meeting as Committee of the Whole.
The City Lager reported on his investigation of fire protection
" stand-by " charges made by cities owning hater supply systems,
also cry- ',' i cations with the Board. of Fire Underwvriters of the
Pacific and the League of C_lifornia Cities in this regard, stat-
ing that there were no parallel cases to those proposed in Lodi
except in Palo Alto where a complicated formula is in use. An
arbitrary rate seemed the best to use. Councilmwri Rinn moved

Councilman Bull then seconded Counciirnp Binnts motion, with the
amendment that this rate of j375.00 will apply to all contracts
entered into and in effect beginning July 1, 1950, no rebates
to be made on service furnished prior to this date. Lotion put
and carried. en motion of Council -Ar Rinn, Bull second, and
carried without dissent, the mayor was authorized to sign all
contracts embodying this rate and this condition.

With revisions suggested by Councilman Bull, the application of

Pressler second.
The Ihyor was authorized to sign an agreement for stadium rental
