L:essts Barbour and Beckman presented petitions of seven
recent lot purc�i.asers favoring closing of Sturla Street as
a safety measure. These lots are near Sturla Street and are
located in Barbour -Beckman Tract No. 5. Le Roy Nichols,
Superintendent of Schools rias present ata -ting that he was
attending as an obse--ver for the :Boa=d of Trustees of Lodi
School District. Rr Nichols s Sg sted that the hearing be
continued in order that the Board of Trustees might give
farther study to the effect of closing Stu.rla Street on
access to Needham School. Council -an Bull stated that he

method of approach to be used to oppose Pacific Cos and

Electric Company's Application No. 32589 pending before the
State Public Utilities Commission rduich would increase
this Cityts power bill by 18N. A further meeting will be
held in Lodi on September 20th at which it is thought
the methods of urotest will be more aeewately formulated.
Claims in the amount of $54,452.35 including an advance of

$25,000 to Lodi Library in anticipation of taxes and a trans-
fer of $33,700.00 to Pension Fund were approved and ordered
paid on motion of Councilman Fsskell, P^eszler second.

Copies of letters exchanged between the City Attorney's office
and Lodi Frozen Foods relative to violations of the provisions
of Ordinance M. 350 relating to discharge of fruit -wastes
