replied that there was no rarticular reason other
t^an the _`'act that the Star Grill was open late
at night and was frequented by his drivers. Mayor
Haskell then called the attention of thCouncil
to the fact that the present stand of the C

order that it ..right be considered along wit'.: the
plans for the improvements to the S.P. lot.
This also being the ti -e and place for the hearing
of protests to the abandonment of Falls Avenue
between •Orant and Roper Avenues, Mayor Haskell
called for such objections. Sookesman for a group
of residents in the b00 and 700 block on Crescent

that the abandonment of Falls Avenue would create

AVENUE
which "'.r. Schneider offered a forty -foot street,
Falls Avenue, with the plan that the street would
be vacated at such time as the Koenig property,
north of Schneider Tract, was subdivided. fir.
Schneider then addressed the Council to state that
the purchasers of property in the Schneider Tract
had been informed that Falls Avenue was to be
vacated upon opening of Crescent and Roper Avenues
to the north. Several property owners answered
that while it is true that they had been informed
that Falls Avenue would be closed, they had been
lead to believe that such closing would not take
place until Daisy Avenue, or other street, was
opened to the south. "_ayor Haskell pointed out
that if Falls Avenue is not closed the owners of
property on Crescent and Roper Avenues will be con-
fronted with a drainage problem this winter. Coun-
ciiman Robinson roved that' --a abandonmpnt of F?lis
Avenue be Dostponed until such time asvrescent
and .'roper Avenues have a souther.,, exit to Daisy,
and that the City does not assume any responsibility
for maintaining said street or providing drainage.
The motion rras seconded by Councilman Preszler and
