This regular meeting of the City Council of the City of
Lodi held beginning at 8:00 o'clock p.m. of Wednesday, November
20, 1957; Councilmen Katzakian, Mitchell, Robinson and Hughes
(Mayor) present; Councilman_ Fuller absent. City Manager Claves
present. City Attorney Mullen present.
On motion of Councilman Katzakian, Robinson second, the
minutes of November 6, 1957, were approved as written and mailed.

The final map of Elmwood Acres was submitted
for approval. On the motion of Councilman Mit=
cheil, Robinson second, the Council approved
the map and authorized the Mayor to sign.
Councilman Katzakian abstained from voting on
the motion because of personal interest in the
subdivision. The acceptance of the streets
offered for dedication_ is subject to improve-
ment of the streets to City standards before
they will be maintained by the City.
The Planning Commission recommended the establish-
ment of setback lines on Vine Street between
Cherokee Lane and the Southern Pacific Railroad
at 30 feet from the center line of the street.
On motion of Councilman Robinson, Katzakian
second, the Council set the Public hearing on
the matter for December 4, 1957.
The Planning Commission recommended that the
property fronting on the west side of Cherokee
Lane between Pioneer Drive and the Grape Festival
grounds be rezoned from C-1 neighborhood com-
mercial to C-2 general commercial. On motion
of Councilman Katzakian, Mitchell second, the
rezoning was set for public hearing on December
4, 1957.
The City Council was then informed of the follow-
ing actions having been taken by the Planning
Commission at its meeting of _November 18:
1. Approved the request of Mrs. Ella Suess
for a use permit to erect a right angle
sign at 407 'nest Lodi Avenue in the C-1
zone.

The City 'Manager presented specifications for

ment's of each department and the cars that were
to be traded in. On motion of Councilman Kat-
zakian, :'itcheil second, specifications for -.,'h=-
following vehicles were approved: One 1/2 ton
pickup truck for the Poundmaster; one, I ton
truck for tile Utilities Department; one, 3/4
ton pickup dump truck for the Recreation and
Parks Department; seven automobiles for the
Police Depart_._.t; one sedan for the Fire Chief;
and one sedan for the Superintendent of -utilities.
