. on the motion of Councilman Fuller, Katzakian

A letter from the Superintendent of Recreation,
reporting that the Recreation Commission had
considered the purchase of the 12 -acre parcel
adjoining Lodi Lake Park on the west from Mrs.
Stella Smith. The Commission recommended that
the City secure an option, and found that the
purchase of the property would be of value to
the City in its future park development. On
the motion of Councilman Katzakian, Mitchell
second, the City Council voted to exercise the
option and to authorize the City Manager and
City Attorney to proceed with the purchase of
the land.
The City Manager reported that he received an
offer for the dedication of Olive Court for
the extension of that street beyond the Presz-
ler Tract. Olive Court is presently dedicated
and improved in the Preszler Tract. The prop-
erty owners living west of this property wish
to extend the street to the dead-end and are
therefore offering it for public use. He
reported that the majority of the property
owners have agreed to pay for the street improve-
ment. The City Engineer recommended that the

street will be improved to the standards recuired
for a new subdivision. Councilman ilitctell then
moved, Fuller second, that the City accept the
deeds with t', -.e understanding that the dedication
is to be at no cost to the City and that paving,
curb, and Putter will also be installed at no
cost to the City. The motion was passed by unani-

Councilman Fuller stated 'r_e felt a 40 -foot load-
ing zone would be insufficient for their purpose
and indicated he would favor granting the original

nointed out that St. Paul's Church does not cro-
vide off-street parking at present. Councilman
