This regular meeting of the City Council of the City of
Lodi held beginning at 9:00 o'clock P.M. of Wednesday, Ypril 2,
1958; Councilmen Fuller, Katzakian, :"Mitchell, Robinson and
Hughes (Mayor) present; none absent. City Manager Glaves and
City Attorney ' ullen, present.
On the motion of Councilman Katzakian, Mitchell second,
the minutes of March 19, 1959, were ap.:roved as written and
mailed.

ADOPTED
The Mayor called for public hearing on the
question of dispensing with a Parking Place
Commission for Parking District No. 1, such
hearing having been set by Resolution No. 2103.
There bein_r no protests, either written or oral,
the Council on motion of Councilman nobinson,
Fuller second, adopted Resolution No. 2110 deter-
mining that no Parking Place Commission shall
be appointed for Parking District No. 1, and
th,.t the City Council of the City of Lodi shall
hereafter have all powers, jurisdiction, and
authority granted to, and all duties imposed
upon, the Comriis-ion pursuant to the Parking
District Law of 1951,

The City Manager reported the following actions
of the Planning Commission:
At its meeting of March 10, 195 the Planning
Commission denied a r= quest for a use permit
to erect a rental dwelling at 219 N. Washing-
ton Street in the "r" industrial zone.
The Planning Commission also took the follow-
ing' action at its-eeting of March 2L, 1958.
1. Approved a use permit for Advance Cleaners
to erect an overhanginx sign at R20 W. Lodi
Avenue in the C-1 zone.
Approved a variance with restrictions for
Yrs. Kermith Lehr to o::er.ite a one -chair
beauty shop at 474 Pioneer Dri.e in the
R-2 residential zone.
The Planning Commission reco^.mended to the City
Council that the west side of South Stockton
Street from Cherry Drive to Kettleman Lane be
rezoned from R-3 and R -L. residential to M
industrial. This woud result in havine indust-
rial zoning in the area bounded by Tokay, Stock-
ton, Kettleman Lane and the Southern Pacific
tracks. On motion of Councilman Mitchell,
Katzakian second, the Council s=tthe public
hearing for April 16, 1958.

second, the Council adopted Resoluti:n No. 2109
authorizing the Mayor and City Clerk to execute
a deed to Clare and Glenn Houston. On -notion
of Councilman Katzakian, Mitchell second, the
Council adopted Resolution No. 2109 auttnorizing
the Mayor and City Clerk to execute a deed to
John W. and Helen A. Griffin.

lots in Parking District No. 1, pointed out that
the first site to be improved was Parcel I on
t'a corner of walnut and Church Streets. He

motion of Councilman Mitchell, Fuller second,
the request was granted.
CROSSrIAL_^:S The City `!anager presented a request from the
Director of Public Works for five crosswalks:

ADOPTED Crescent at Lodi Avenue, and on Tokay at Lee
