HomeMy WebLinkAboutAgenda Report - November 19, 1997 (76)CITY OF LODI COUNCIL COMMUNICATION AGENDA TITLE: Set Public Hearing for December 17, 1997 to Consider Unmet Transit Needs in Lodi MEETING DATE: November 19, 1997 PREPARED BY: Public Works Director RECOMMENDED ACTION: That the City Council set a public hearing for noon to 1 p.m. and continued to the regularly scheduled meeting of December 17, 1997, to consider unmet transit needs in Lodi. Both hearings will be held in the Carnegie Forum. BACKGROUND INFORMATION: These public hearings are an annual requirement of the Transportation Development Act regulations. No major transit needs are expected to be identified. Requests will be made for longer evening and Sunday GrapeLine service, and weekend interregional service to Galt and Stockton. To date, there does not appear to be enough demand for any of these types of services. After the hearing, it is expected that the San Joaquin Council of Governments will find that there are no unmet transit needs in Lodi. FUNDING: Not applicable. JadL. Perrin City Clerk Telephone: (209) 333-6702 NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on Wednesday, December 17, 1997 at the hour of 12:00 noon, or as soon thereafter as the matter may be heard, the City of Lodi will conduct a Public Hearing at the Carnegie Forum, 305 West Pine Street, to obtain citizens' comments on unmet transit needs within the City of Lodi. NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that this public hearing will be continued to December 17, 1997 at the hour of 7:00 p.m. in conjunction with the regular meeting of the City Council at the Carnegie Forum, 305 West Pine Street, Lodi. All interested persons are invited to present their views and comments on this matter. Written statements may be filed with the City Clerk at any time prior to the hearing scheduled herein, and oral statements may be made at said hearing. If you challenge the subject matter in court, you may be limited to raising only those issues you or someone else raised at the Public Hearing described in this notice or in written correspondence delivered to the City Clerk, P.O.
