Coun- cilmen Brown, Katzakian, Mitchell, Ullmann and Culbertson (Mayor) present; none absent. Also present: City Manager Glaves, City Attorney Mullen, Planning Director Rodgers and Administrative Asst. Carlton. MINUTES Minutes of December 21, 1960 were approved as written and mailed on motion of Councilman Mitchell, Ullmann second. C Or11iUNI C ATI ON S ACAMPO FARM Letter from Acampo Farm Bureau Center thanking the BUREAU Council for asking the State to design the Turner Road Interchange without stops for southbound traffic entering Turner Road. ABC LICENSE Notice of Application for Transfer of Alcoholic Beverage License, On Sale General, of Clarence L. Healy, Donald B. Leonardini, Edward C. Merlo and Robert H. Peters, "Tokay Bowl", 620 South Cherokee Lane. REPORTS OF THE CITY MANAGER CLAIMS Claims in the amount of $118,197.85 were approved on motion of Councilman Brown, Katzakian second. AW ARD - Bids for the concession at Lodi Lake Park were LAKE PARK presented from Hires Bottling Company of Lodi and CONCESSION Pepsi-Cola Bottling Company of Stockton. The Recreation Commission recommended that the con - RES. NO. 2404 tract be awarded on a three-year basis and that ADOPTED award be made to Pepsi-Cola Bottling Company as the higher bidder with a bid of 27+ of gross receipts to the City. The bid of Hires Bottling Company for a three-year period was 27% of the gross receipts. Councilman Brown moved the adoption of Resolution No. 2404 awarding the con- tract for the Lake Park concession for a three- year period to Pepsi-Cola Bottling Company. Motion was seconded by Councilman Katzakian and carried. AWARD - Tabulation of bids on the Lowe's Village Street LOWE'S VILLAGE Lighting District was presented as follows: STREET LIGHTS Electric Equipment Company $9,300.00 RES. N0. 2405 Collins Electrical Company 9,326.00 ADOPTED R. Goold & .Son 13,410.00 Builders Electric Company 19,548-00 On motion of Councilman Mitchell, Brown second, the Council adopted Resolution No. 2405 awarding the contract for the Lowe's Village Street Lights to Electric Equipment Company. PURITY STORE City Manager Glaves then presented plans for a DRIVEWAYS revision of the Purity Store parking lot on the south side of Lodi Avenue between Hutchins Street and Lee Avenue. The ADOPTED Assistant City Engineer recommends that the pro- posed changes in driveways be granted and that the no parking zone on the west side of Lee Avenue south of Lodi Avenue be abandoned. After considerable discussion of the traffic problems involved, the Council approved the plans for.the driveways as requested on motion -of Councilman Brown, Mitchell second. Councilman Brown then moved the adoption of Resolution No. 2406 eliminat- ing the no parking zone on the west side of Lee Avenue immediately south of Lodi Avenue. Motion seconded by Councilman Katzakian, and carried. LOADING ZONE A request from St. Paul's American Lutheran Church, ST. PAUL'S comer of Tokay and Pleasant, that the passenger AM. LUTHERAN loading zone in front of the church be extended CHURCH from 40 feet to 100 feet was then presented. The Church has recently put in a new parking lot and RES. NO. 2407 feels that the extension of the loading zone ADOPTED would help eliminate congestion at this inter- section during church services. The City Manager recommended that the request be granted, and on .motion of Councilman Mitchell, Katzakian second, the Council adopted Resolution No. 2407 extend- ing the passenger loading zone in)front of St. Paul's American Lutheran Church an additional 60 feet. SPECS - The City Council approved specification for gaso- GASOLINE, OIL line, oils and greases and authorized calling for AND GREASES bids on motion of Councilman Katzakian, Mitchell second. PARK -PLANS City Manager Glaves then called on Superintendent VINE-HUTCHINS of Recreation and Parks DeBenedetti to present SITE preliminary plans for the Vine -Hutchins park site as prepared by Mr. Paul Tritenbach, who was also present. Mr. 'De Benedetti gave a resume of the proposed design and functions for the park and presented cost figures for the various phases of development. The estimated cost of develop- ing the park to the full extent shown on the plans was given as $67,090, with City crews doing turfing, etc. The Council agreed to hold the matter over to the next Council meeting to give members an opportunity to study the plans further.
