CITY HALL COUNCIL CHAMBERS
JUNE 12, 1963
An adjourned regular meeting of the City- Council of the City of Lodi was held
beginning at 8:00 p. m. or. Wednesday, June 12, 1963, in the City Hail Council
Chambers.
ROLL CALL Present: Councilmen - BROWN, CULBERTSON (8:06 p.m.),
KIRSTEN, SCHAFFER and HUNNELL
(Mayor)
Also present: City Manager Glaves, Assistant City Manager
Peterson, and City- Attorney Mullen.
PLEDGE Mayor Hunnell led the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.
SALE OF The discussion of the sale of the house on the northeast corner of
HOUSE NE Ham Lane and Lodi Avenue having been continued from the meeting
COR HAM do of June 5, 1963, the Council reported it had visited the house and
LODI AVE. felt it was not necessary to make improvements to the house before
offering it for sale. On motion of Councilman Kirsten, Brown second,
the Council authorized the City Manager to enter into an agreement
with the Multiple Listing Service of the Lodi Board of Realtors for
t1,e sale of the property at a price of $17, 000.
Councilman Brown_ felt the garage being so close to the front of
the property is hazardous. The Council discussed the possibility
of moving the garage prior to the sale and after further discussion
Councilman Culbertson moved the City Manager be authorized to
call for informal bids to move the garage back so that there is
sufficient clearance for a car in front of the garage. The motion
was seconded by Councilman Brown and carried unanimously.
1963-69 BUDGET
The Council then reviewed and discussed the City Manager's budget
memorandum of Jure 4, 1963. They considered the list of
supplemental requests submitted with the memorandum and, after
much discussion on various items, it was generally agreed that
the recommendations of the City Manager be accepted. Councilmen
Brown. and Schaffer questioned the need for the mobil radio for the
Public Works Department. After discussion of this item,
Councilman Brown moved, Schaffer second, the mobil radio be
deleted from the budget. After further discussion, Councilman
Culbertson offered a substitute motion that this item be approved
at this time, and requested a report from the staff on it at the
meeting of June 19, 1968. The motion was seconded by
Councilman Kirsten and carried with Councilman Schaffer voting
no. Further study of the budget was continued to the meeting of
June 19, 1968.
EXECUTIVE The Council then adjourned to executive session at 11:25 p.m.

ADJOURNMENT
The Council reconvened and the Mayor adjourned the meeting at
11:40 p. m.
