An adjourned regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Lodi
was held beginning at 7:30 p.m. onTuly 18, 1959 inthe City Hall
Council Chambers. riay,
ROLL CALL Present: Councilmen - BROWN, CULBERTSON,
HUNNELL, SCHAFFER and
KIRSTEN (Mayor)
Absent: Councilmen - None
Also present: City Manager Glaves and Assistant City
Manager Peterson.
PLEDGE Mayor Kirsten led the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag.
1969 - 70 BUDGET
The Council then completed its review of the Operating
Budget, considering the Public Works, Utilities and
Recreation and Parks budgets and the Utility Outlay
budget. The Council then reviewed and approved the
City Manager's Tabulation of Supplemental Requests
which had been included in the budget. Lcluded in the
requests were the following additional personnel:
Public Works Department - Laboratory
Technician
Utilities Department - Warehouseman and
Utility Systems Operator
Parks - Maintenance Man I (2 positions)

The Council resumed its review of the Operating Budget
which had been continued from the meeting of July 9.
PLANNING
City Manager Glaves reported that he had discussed the
DEP T.
amount budgeted for travel with the Plann:Lng Director
and it would now be his recommendation to increase the
200 series to provide funds for all Planning Commissioners
to attend the Planners' Institute next year. The Council
agreed with the City Manager's recommendation and
increased the 200 series by $700.
FINANCE
The Council reviewed the Finance Departtment budget
DEPT.
and discussed the increase in the 300 series to provide
funds for service bureau preparation of utility bills.
POLICE
After discussion of the Police Department budget, the
DEPT.
Council agreed the 300 series should be reduced by
$300 thereby eliminating the requested law library.
The Council then completed its review of the Operating
Budget, considering the Public Works, Utilities and
Recreation and Parks budgets and the Utility Outlay
budget. The Council then reviewed and approved the
City Manager's Tabulation of Supplemental Requests

ADOPT 1969-70 Councilman Culbertson then moved introduction of --
OPERATING Ordinance No. 905 adopting the 1969-70 Operating
BUDGET Budget as modified. The motion was seconded by
ORD. NO. 905 Councilman Schaffer and carried by unanimous
INTRODUCED vote.
ADJOURNMENT
The Mayor adjourned the meeting at approximately
10:15 p, m.
