HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - September 30, 1970 SMs CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF LODI CITY HALL COUNCIL CHAMBERS SEPTEMBER 30, 1970 A special meeting of the City Council of the City of Lodi was held pursuant to written notice personally delivered to each member of the City Council at least 24 hours before the meeting. Copies of the notice of said meeting were also delivered to the Lodi News -Sentinel and the Stockton Record at least 24 hours prior to said meeting. The meeting was called to order by Vice Mayor Richard Hughes at approximately 5:11 p, m, on Wednesday, September 30, 1970 in the City Hall Council Chambers. ROLL CALL Present: Councilmen - EHRHARDT, HUGHES, KATNICH, KIRSTEN and SCHAFFER (Mayor) arrived at 5:37 p.m. Absent: Councilmen - None Also present: City Manager Glaves, Assistant City Manager Peterson, City Attorney Mullen, Planning Director Schroeder, Mr. Pat McDonald of the Stockton Record and Mr. Allen Palmer of the Lodi News -Sentinel. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss salary negotiations and the City Manager advised the Council that negotiations with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers for salary and fringe benefit adjustments and working conditions had been successfully concluded, and he recommended that the matters agreed upon should be effective as of September 1, 1970. The exact details are to be set forth in a Memorandum of Understanding and submitted to the Council as soon as it is prepared. EFFECTIVE On motion of Councilman Kirsten, Ehrhardt second, the City DATE OF Council adopted Resolution No. 3420 establishing September 1, I. B. E. W. Councilman Kirsten then moved the Council adjourn to executive session to hear the report of the City Manager concerning these negotiations. The motion was seconded by Councilman Ehrhardt and carried. EXECUTIVE The Council adjourned to executive session at approximately SESSION 5: 15 p. m. - 1 - At approximately 5:37 p, m. the Council reconvened. Mayor Schaffer arrived at this time and took the chair. EFFECTIVE Councilman Kirsten moved adoption of Resolution No. DATE FOR 3421 establishing September 1, 1970 as the effective date SALARY for whatever salary and fringe benefit adjustments may be ADJUSTMENTS made as a result of subsequent Council action for both classified and unclassified personnel.
