HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - May 5, 1970 SM6a CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF LODI CITY HALL COUNCIL CHAMBERS May F, , 1970 A special meeting of the City Council of the City of Lodi was held beginning at 7:30 p. m. on Tuesday May 5, 1970, in the City Hall Council Chambers. — ROLL CALL Present: Councilmen - EHRHARDT, HUGHES, KATNICH, KIRSTEN and SCHAFFER (Mayor) Also present: City Manager Glaves, Assistant City Manager Peterson, City Attorney Mullen, Planning Director Schroeder, Public Works Director Jones, and City Librarian Lachendro. PLEDGE Mayor Schaffer led the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag. Mayor Schaffer stated that the purpose of the meeting was to acquaint the new City Councilmen with the general affairs of the Council. He explained that matters to be discussed included the relationship of various associated agencies, committees and associa- tions with which the City Council must deal, relation- ship of the City Council with various elements of' the City government and other areas of general orientation. Mayor Schaffer then called upon Planning Director Jim Schroeder to discuss the following items: City Planning Commission County Planning Commission Local Agency Formation Commission (LAFCO) Cities and County of San Joaquin Advisory Planning Association Community Action Council Mayor Schaffer then discussed the function of the Northern California Power Agency, American Public Power Association, and the National League of Cities. The purposes of the Highway 12 Association were presented by Mayor Ben Schaffer.
