HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - July 28, 1971L -L" CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF LODI CITY HALL COUNCIL CHAMBERS JULY 28, 1971 An adjourned regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Lodi was held beginning at 7:17 a, m. on Wednesday, July 28, 1971 in the City Hall Council Chambers. ROLL CALL Present: Councilmen - HUGHES (arrived 7:30 a.m. , KIRSTEN, SCHAFFER, and KATNICH (Mayor) Absent: Councilmen - EHRHARDT Also present: City Manager Glaves and Assistant City Manager Peterson. COUNCIL CHAMBERS REMODELING Mr. Arlie Preszler presented two alternate plans for the remodeling of the Council Chambers for Council consideration. He reviewed the plans stating that the first plan was symmetrical in arrangement and more traditional while the second plan had been designed with the axis on an angle using a different approach. The Council considered the two plans and discussed the placement of maps, visual aids and overhead projection equip- ment. Also discussed was the placement and elevation of the Council table and the seating of the staff members. After the discussion, Councilman Schaffer moved the Council approve the symmetrical plan including a Council table of semi -circular design large enough to accommodate the seating of nine Planning Commissioners, and authorize the architect, Mr. Preszler, to proceed with the plans for remodeling of the Council Chambers. The motion was seconded by Councilman Kirsten and carried. The City Manager reported that he had discussed the painting of the Chambers with Mr. Mario Kerner but a definite color had not been decided. The Council then requested the City Manager continue working with Mr. Kerner to develop a color scheme for the Chambers. The meeting was adjourned on motion of Councilman Kirsten at approximately 8:35 a.m. Attest: E SSI L. ENNETT City Cleric
