COUNCIL CHAMBERS REMODELING
Mr. Arlie Preszler presented two alternate
plans for the remodeling of the Council
Chambers for Council consideration. He
reviewed the plans stating that the first plan
was symmetrical in arrangement and more
traditional while the second plan had been
designed with the axis on an angle using a
different approach. The Council considered
the two plans and discussed the placement of
maps, visual aids and overhead projection equip-
ment. Also discussed was the placement and
elevation of the Council table and the seating
of the staff members.
After the discussion, Councilman Schaffer moved
the Council approve the symmetrical plan
including a Council table of semi -circular
design large enough to accommodate the seating
of nine Planning Commissioners, and authorize
the architect, Mr. Preszler, to proceed with
the plans for remodeling of the Council Chambers.
The motion was seconded by Councilman Kirsten
and carried.
The City Manager reported that he had discussed
the painting of the Chambers with Mr. Mario
Kerner but a definite color had not been decided.
The Council then requested the City Manager
continue working with Mr. Kerner to develop
a color scheme for the Chambers.
The meeting was adjourned on motion of Councilman
Kirsten at approximately 8:35 a.m.
