CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF LODI
CITY HALL COUNCIL CHAMBERS
JUNE 26, 1974
An adjourned regular meeting of the City Council of the City of
Lodi was held beginning at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 26,
1974, in the City Hall Council Chambers.
ROLL CALL Present: Councilmen - EHRHARDT, HUGHES,
(arrived 8:05 p. m. ), KATNICH,
SCHAFFER, and PINKERTO.i(Mayor)
Absent: Councilmen - None
The City Clerk announced that this adjourned
meeting of the Lodi City Council is being
called by Mayor Pinkerton pursuant to
Government Code Section 54956.
WAIVER OF WRITTEN A written waiver of notice, which has been

INVOCATION The invocation was given by Councilman
Ehrhardt.

to the flag.
REPORTS OF THE CITY MANAGER
WILLOW AVENUE City Manager Giaves reported that the
SANITARY SEWER contract for the Willow Avenue Sanitary Sewer
ASSESSMENT DISTRICT Assessment District which was awarded to
ACCEPTED William Burkhardt has been completed in
substantial conformance with the plans and
specifications approved by the City Council.
The contract completion date was June 7, 1974

and the actual completion date was

$7, 161. 30 and the final contract price was
the same.
On motion of Councilman Katnich, Schaffer
second, the City Council accepted the
improvements in "Peach Street Sanitary
Sewer Assessment District" and directed the
Public Works Director to file a Notice of
Completion with the County Recorder's
office.
Claims in the amount of $94, 122.28 were
CLAIMS approved on motion of Councilman Ehrhardt,
Schaffer second.
Mr. Glaves reported that representatives of
the City and the San Joaquin County Employees
Association had reached agreement concerning
salaries and fringe benefits for General
Service, Fire and Police personnel. He
outlined the proposal and recommended the
SALARY Council accent the terms of the agreement.
NEGOTIATIONS
On motion of Councilman Katnich, Ehrhardt
second, the Council accepted the Memorandum
of Understanding for General Service, Fire and
Police personnel as outlined by the City Manager.
NON -CLASSIFIED Council concurred that salary increases or
EMPLOYEES other benefits granted this year to the non-
classified employees would be retroactive to
July 1, 1974.
1974-75 BUDGET The City Council continued its review of the
City Manager's proposed Operating Budget for
1974-75, with Assistant City Manager Jerry
Glenn making the presentation. Additions to

the City Manager's proposed Operating
Budget for 1974-75 were made as follows:
On motion of Councilman Ehrhardt, Schaffer
second, the Council increased the proposed
budget by $500. 00 for the Lodi District
Chamber of Commerce Bicentennial Fund.
On motion of Councilman Schaffer, Katnich
second, the Council increased the proposed
budget $9, 700. 00 to cover N. C. P. A. dues.
Dr. C. Robert Breckenridge, President of
the Lodi District Chamber of Commerce and
Frank A. Wolfe, Executive Manager,
speaking on behalf of the Lodi District
Chamber of Commerce, addressed the
Council requesting additional funds over and
above the $9, 200. 00 projected in the proposed
1974-75 Operating Budget. Following Council
discussion, Council requested that the Lodi
District Chamber of Commerce provide the
City with a program by program Chamber
budget. Action on the Chamber's request for
additional funds was deferred until the re-
quested budget report is received and can be
reviewed by the Council.
RECESS The Mayor declared a ten-minute recess, and
the Council reconvened at 10:10 p.m.
1974-75 BUDGET No action was taken on the proposed 1974-75
CONTINUED Operating Budget and the matter was continued
to the regular City Council meeting of July 3,
1974,
ADJOURNMENT At 10:55 p. m. , on motion of Councilman
Schaffer, Ehrhardt second, the Council ad-
journed the session.
