June 11, 1975
An adjourned regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Lodi was held
beginning at 7:30 p. m. on Wednesday, June 11, 1975, in the City Hall Council
Chambers

OPERATING
BUDGET
Present: Councilmen - EHRHARDT, HUGHES, KATNICH,
PINKERTON and SCHAFFER (Mayor
Absent: Councilmen - None
Also present were: City Manager Claves, Assistant City
Manager Glenn, and Planning Director Schroeder
The presentation of the proposed 1975-76 Operating
Budget for Council review was continued by Assistant
City Manger Glenn.
A critique of the 100 Series - Personal Services, Z00
Series - Utilities and Transportation, 300 Series -
Materials and Supplies, 400 Series - Depreciation of
Equipment, 500 Series - Equipment, Land and Struc-
tures, and 600 Series - Special Payments were presented
By Mr. Glenn.
Discussion and questions by the Council ensued on the
following points:
a) The justification and availability of State Funds for
the proposed additional Laboratory Technician at White
Slough.
b) The proposed reorganization of the Police Department.
c) Additional wages for personnel at the rifle range, as
well as increased fees to offset the additional costs.
d) Computer installation for the City of Lodi and proposed
subsequent hiring of a Data Services Supervisor to provide
the technical expertise for the operation and program
development for the proposed computer installation.
e) Possible revision of depreciation schedule for the
Utility Department.
f) Additional information was requested regarding Delta
Advisory Planning Council's request for a $635. 00
contribution.
g) Information was requested on previous Bicentennial
commitments made by Council.
h) The feasibility of retaining an engineering firm, rather
than filling vacant Jr. Civil Engineer position.

The proposed 1975-76 Library Budget was then
presented for Council review by Mr. Glenn. Librarian
Leonard Lachendro, who was in the audience, came
forward and answered questions regarding this budget as
were directed by Council.
The proposed authorized equipment purchases for
1975-76 were presented for Council's scrutiny. Questions
regarding various pieces of equipment listed were
directed to Staff by the Council.
No Council action was taken at this meeting on the proposed
1975-76 Operating Budget.
APPOINTMENT TO On motion of Councilman Pinkerton, Ehrhardt second,
PERSONNEL BOARD Mrs. Esther F. Lund was appointed as a member of the
OF REVIEW Personnel Board of Review for a term of four years com-
mencing June 30, 1975.
ADJOURNMENT At approximately 10:30 p. m. , Mayor Schaffer adjourned
the meeting.
