JOINT CITY COUNCIL MEETING
WITH CONGRESSMAN RICHARD POMBO

Present from the Congressman's Office — Congressman Richard Pombo; Chief of Staff,
Steven J. Ding; and Field Representative Nicole

Also attending were: Representatives from the Lodi News Sentinel and The Record; Andy
Christensen with the Woodbridge Irrigation District; Jerry Glenn, Galt City
Manager; and concerned citizens Walter and Janet Pruss and Myrna
Wetzel
2. DISCUSSION OF ITEMS OF MUTUAL CONCERN
Mayor Land thanked Congressman Pombo for his appearance at this meeting and presented him
with a gift basket on behalf of the City. City Manager Flynn introduced the attending staff
members to Mr. Pombo and discussions regarding the following subjects took place:
• City Attorney commented on the SBA loans on contaminated property and in regards to
Senate Bill 386 and House Bill 721, which is co-sponsored by Matsui.
• PCE/TCE
• Lower Mokelumne River Restoration Program
• Regional Sports Complex
• EDA Grant Application
• TEA21 (Downtown Park and Ride Structure)
• TEA21 (Compressed Natural Gas Buses)
• Before and After School Children's Programs
• Electric Restructuring in California
• Items of mutual concern
Mr. Pombo assured City personnel that he would do what he could to assist Lodi in its proposed
projects.
3. ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at approximately 6:20 p.m.
